Peace Naturals Project Review (ongoing)

I would like to start by saying that I am not a cannabis connoisseur, so mainly this thread is to show pics and report how the strains effect my pains (mainly abdominal, but some back pains).

Application Processing Time:
Around 2 weeks, was a little longer for me probably because of a surge in applications that were sent during/right after the xmas holidays.
Shipping time and cost: 4 days to Calgary AB, packages are shipped via Canada Post Xpresspost. Price is around $13 for 15g shipments.
Price: $6/g

Shipments will come with your medicine vacuum sealed and placed into mostly transparent medicine bottles, varying in color (the vac bags hold 5g each, so 2 per bottle), a receipt, HC papers, and a "VERIFIED CLIENT CARD" if it's your first order. The client card has an emergency hotline number on the back which is nice to see.

Strains

~Chrome~
Actual strain/genetics: Hightimes magazine says that it is a "specially selected Chemdog variety".
THC: 19.87%
CBD: 0.18%
Effects: Eyes began to feel very droopy and and I felt very tired. Lots of head pain relief (especially in the back of your head), but a lack of neck down pain relief for me with this one.
Smell: Strong, sweet, hay.

Actual strain/genetics:
Unknown
THC:
9.73%
CBD:

Effects:
The first feelings to come on were in my eye and upper jaw region. The muscles just relax and feel a bit puffy. After about 20 minutes I started feeling very focused and and a bit energized, but no racing thoughts. You want to get stuff done.
Smell:
Hard to describe. Sweet with a faint Vicks smell.
Glamour shot :weed:

Almost $1/g to ship! Holy cow, it's going to cost more to ship to ship than what's in the pkg. Did you have shipping options like a courier or just the post office?

They didn't give me any options, just a price lol. Next time I order, I will ask if they do courier shipping or even Canadapost Priority mail.

Anyway, pics are updated with links for close up viewing pleasure.

I am interested to know what shipping would be on 150g? I'd need to order twice a month to meet my 10g/day. The $6/g is the best LP price I've seen, but still about $4.60/g more than it costs me now, and then you add on tax and shipping...

Thanks for the report Eliminare....keep them coming...if you keep buying.....

Its so hard to get unbiased reports....on the internet...so thanks again for putting yourself out there....
With you I know the report was legit...
As time goes by there will probably be plenty of smoke reports.....but judging their authenticity will be a real challenge ....

You bring up a very good point Cannadan. I have been wondering about how to get authentic reviews.
If there was a site that had an area for reviews, do you have any ideas on how to validate the input?

Buy some and smoke it yourself.

Great point. Buy unknown shit and find out it's shit. Awesome way of doing business. The stuff pictured in these nice close up shots are shit! Simply put, there are trics but zero crystals on those hairs. That you for your kind, honest opinion but as you've said. "I'm not a cannabis connoisseur" After seeing the pictures of the bud yer smoking. That's obvious. I hope that shit is good for you and that you have an endless supply of cash to buy it with. I'd rather die than pay for scrap like that.

Okay. Have some Happy Feet: It took 6 days to arrive from the date of order (including the weekend). Looks good, bright green. All medium sized buds, a tiny bit of crumbly stuff in the bottom of the bag. Well manicured, no leaves or twigs or stems. Smells a little bit dank, good old-fashioned pot smell. Feels well cured (soft, a little sticky, a bit spongy), a bit light & fluffy when you pull it apart, it burns fairly fast, but very clean. Not super potent, about the same as average/good street stuff, which is fine for me, my goal is pain relief, not getting stoned. The high is an immediate euphoria, very up, happy, chatty. Good head effect, lasts 2-3 hrs.

I need to make a new batch of tincture, and picked up some chocolate mint candy supplies and a mould at Michaels, so will make some chocolate wafers. Will let you know how it works.

Looks are deceiving. Sounding like a person who knows what they are talking about and actually reading and looking to actually see what has been said. It's very easy to see actually and seeing is true fact not some ones take on things. Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one eh. :) No crystals are easy to see. Scrap is scrap. That is scrap and could be bought for $2 dollars a gram if not less. Commercial scrap has that beat and it is commercial. lol Think maybe the person pushing this scrap should try and pull the wool over someone else's eye's. cheers for the non connoisseur

Here's a little tip..."crystals" are trichomes and yes there are very few on the pistils (at that level of magnification anyways) which is usually the norm. But as you can clearly see, they're very abundant EVERYWHERE ELSE.

So since we are judging this cannabis by a photo alone, please show me a pic of what you would call "primo" or non-scrap.

I just got this email from Peace Naturals a little while ago:

"The past few months have been filled with excitement, celebration and new discoveries. Unfortunately along with these highlights we have also experienced frustration, disappointment and regret over sometimes letting down the people we have worked so hard to care and provide for.
We recently learned that we have been nominated for an Innovation and Sustainability Award by the province of Ontario, we have been featured in the High Times March Edition (http://www.hightimes.com/read/canadas-government-takeover-cannabis) and have been profiled on TV and in national newspapers discussing the New Cannabis and the MMPR.
While we have celebrated our leadership in this new industry, we have also shared the growing pains caused by our initial desire to offer a large selection of varieties of medicinal cannabis. We did not have a complete understanding of our clients' preferences for each of the medicinal varieties we offer. As a result, we feel like we have let many of you down. In spite of our best efforts to provide each of you with our broadest selection, we have learned that we must work within our spacial limitations and produce more quantity with less variety in order to ultimately serve you all better.
If you have been speaking with our Client Care Team over the past weeks, you will have heard already that this is a 2 month adjustment. We are breaking ground on our expansion facilities in March and know we will have a 10 fold greater capacity to serve all of your needs, with a broader selection and consistent levels of inventory.
I would like to personally apologize on behalf of The Peace Naturals Project for any hardship you have endured as a result of our interim inability to supply all of our varieties all of the time. We are certain that our current production will satisfy all of our registered clients' daily medicinal Cannabis needs - but we may not have the breadth of variety and selection required to satisfy so many different needs. Our goal was to have 20 different varieties of Medicinal Cannabis available on March 31, 2014. While it is possible to accomplish, we cannot satisfy the inventory requirements so therefore will cut back our forecast from 20 - 12.
As we focus on standardizing growing and optimization techniques, we know that the future is very bright and full of promise for a greater assortment of medicinal Cannabis go forward. As of this week ending March 1, 2014 we expect to have at least 5 varieties with different metabolite profiles to cover the broad range of wants and needs of our clientèle. The following week we will have 2 additional varieties in greater quantities than we have ever had. Please check the website as it will be updated as varieties are released.
Additionally, on March 3rd we will be opening up our web ordering portal and will be offering all of you a 3 month discount of 5% when you order on-line! We know that this may be more convenient to some and others will continue to enjoy speaking to your favorite Client Care Representative to place your order.
Finally, please allow me to say “thank you” for the tremendous support, positive feedback and encouragement we have received since we started in November 2013 as the first “new” Licensed Producer in Canada. While we are thrilled with our accomplishments and ability to make most of our clients happy, we know that we have made the transition to MMPR more difficult for some and we have deep regrets for those challenges. We thank you in advance for the additional opportunity to service your needs.
On behalf of the Client Care and Operations Teams at the Peace Naturals Project, thank you again and we look forward to a long term relationship where we are your preferred choice for great value medicinal Cannabis in Canada.
