Are Joints Really A Waste Of Weed?

The reason I'm making a fuss about conserving weed is because I buy really good weed. Like $60 an eighth kind of weed. In a year and a half of smoking this bud I've only found 1 seed. And with that kind of expensive weed I don't buy a whole lot of it because a.) I don't need to because a little bit gets me fucking ripped and b.) it's to damn expensive to waste any. So I use glass. If I'm buying mids or brick weed I'll always roll a joint or blunt than put it in my glass.

I've been told many times that joints are a waste of weed. I don't think it's true. I think smoking out of a pipe/bong would be more of a waste. I'm sure some of you are nodding in disagreement right now..haha. Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

when you smoke joints atleast you have roaches left and let me tell ya those fuckers add up quickly. a roach joint always fucks me up double what the actual weed does. it's crazy.
another thing..if you use a grinder with a kief trap like we do..well you can also smoke that shit or make hash.

so smoking joints and using a grinder you end up with lotsa roaches and kief.

now someone tell me again how smoking pipes saves weed? how are joints wasteful?

There is no such thing as a waste of weed. If you have a joint in one hand and a bowl in the other, there is more weed in the joint. (unless it's a massive bowl). THerefore, if you are smoking joints you smoke MORE weed and get higher than if you smoked the bowl. Joints are nice if you wanna smoke a lot of weed but if your supply is low (and as a broke ass hippie mine usually is) bowls will get you high too. IT's just a question of how much weed you put into your smoking device.

It comes down to personal preference... Personally I think bowls and bongs are wastes of weed. Also depends on the type of papers you use. I use hemp papers. Burns slower and evenly. You can take a gram of weed and pack a bowl with it or roll a joint. Once you smoke the bowl its gone. You smoke a joint, you got a roach. If you smoke like I do - I save my roaches. When I'm out and it's dry, you can get at least 5 joints out of a half ounce of roaches. Even more if you roll smaller doobies. And that shit's been fired before so it fucks you up more! Especially if it's Sinsemilla. Unless you want to scrape a bowl and smoke resin.

well i smoke alone, and honestly, a joint is too much at once- and it would wipe out my weed with a couple days, rather than a week or so.

i like packing bowls because all i need is a few rips anyways.

Exactly like I said... Personal preference. The way I smoke, depending what KIND of bud it is, I can finish a whole doobie myself. It's like drinking a beer or whatever. Some people need a few beers to feel good. Some people have to drink a whole 6 pack or case to get fucked up. Everyone has different levels of tolerance. If you have great bud, like Sinsemilla, you don't have to roll a HUGE joint. You can take a half a GRAM or even less, roll a pinner, and get BLITZED! I know, I've done it many times... an 8th of Sinsemilla can last me a few days, where an 8th of regs can last me a few hours sometimes.

Plus pipes get hot. Just the other day I smoked out of a metal pipe with a metal screen at a friends house. I could barely hold the damn thing it was so fucking hot. Plus with a bowl or bong you keep tasting everything that was in there before. Unless you clean it before EVERY smoke it all starts to taste like resin after a while... At least with a doobie you taste THAT bud and that bud only. You can't reuse the rolling paper! Thank god for that! And I challenge anyone who claims you can't taste the bud in a joint. Pure bullshit.

I forgot to add... It's not illegal to get caught with a pack of papers... However, in some places it's worse to get caught with paraphenalia than actual BUD. My vote is still for a Doobie any day! I'd take a doobie over ANYTHING.

well honestly ... everyones right i mean, theres no wrong answer, it depends on a lot of things though on which is more effective or useful, if youve got a lot of not so strong shit, joints all the way, you can kick back relax, and if you roll a few in advance you can just go one to another and not have to stop cash ur pipe re pack, and shit. if its better shit itll take less and you can put just the right amount in the bowl and be happy with it,

but on another hand, joints keep burning either way, pipes you usualy have to light ever other hit or so. which is both good and bad,

personally i like both pretty much equally, the only time i smoke is with my girlfriend not all that often, so its just w/e mood hits us, whether we want to pass a pipe around a couple time and get buzzed, or pass a joint, or our own joints or some combonation of all three usualy works out, and before someone asks what kind of weak shit we have, we smoke mostly herbal stuff, its cheaper and takes a lot more to get high high, but thats fine,

so like everyones said, its a personal choice, depending on mood, stash, company, w/e

Joints are so convienient. You can smoke them pretty much anywhere. I smoke them in cars, and on the side walks some times. For me, I really dont care what I smoke out of, as long as I get high. I would rather not use a joint though. Some are good, but some just suck. I think it wastes weed because its always burning.

As for other pieces, this is what I love. I have some sick pipes. Each is amazing in a different way and they cost like $15 each. It doesnt take too long to pack, but you have the pipe to hide. Bubblers and bongs are big and hit great. Those are for the house. I think that if you cover the bowl with you lighter, it stops the flow of oxygen and the smoke pretty much just stops after you take a hit. So with a bong or pipe you can hit it and make it stop smoking.

All I did today was smoke, so if that doesnt make sence then whatever.

Joints are more time consuming - it takes you longer to roll a joint than to pick a bud and hit a bong.. I would imagine its more efficient as what your smoking is trapped within the bong until your next hit, whereas with a joint smoke is constantly being lost while your not smoking it.

I find that joints leave me smelling worse in more places than a bong - my fingers don't smell after I've had a bong hit nor do I have smoke going onto my clothes as it is when a joint is moving up and down while being smoked.

I have issues with both methods however, with a bong you need to clean it and the resin that gets built up above the water level is troublesome to remove. I also need to refill the bong water every few uses which gets tiring. With joints its like burning incense, and I often forget to toss the roach and leave it in my pocket or something then its obvious to everyone near me that I've smoked..

I wouldn't say that joints are a waste of weed, they still have their place and purpose.
