I recently bought 10 red belly piranha (which grow fast as hell about 2 inches per month, the scientific name is Pygocentrus nattereri) and I have them in a 150 gallon fish tank. They eat a lot of meat and they produce a lot of shit. I also have a few plecos in there which eat algea waffers. The algea eaters vary in size but the largest is 14'' long. The piranha are all about 4-5 inches long.

I also own the full line of Fox Farm products (sledge hammer is on its way)

Now there is a shit load of bacteria in my fish tank and there is some bacteria in big bloom (atleast thats what it says). I have heard not to use big bloom until week 3 because it causes problems, so would it be better to use the water from my fish tank to feed my plants also using grow big during the vegetative cycle. At about week 3 I would start using Big bloom and continue using the fish tank water. I know Grow big has kelp and some organic products in it but it is also chemicals. So my question is would it be safe to use these combined. I will also be following the fox farm nutrient schedule on their website, but like I said i heard I should make some adjustments to when to use the big bloom.

Also how the hell do I measure how much nutrients are in the fish tank water. I know when I drain my tank half way my nitrate levels are at about 8 ppm and my ammonia levels are usually around 0.2 ppm and my nitrite levels always show 0 ppm.

If anyone has ever used fish tank water for there plants please let me know. if no one has any idea then I will try it on just a few of my plants and label them accordingly.

Please help!
Thanks!

I am using the water from my koi pond to water my plants. I have been doing this since I put them outside a few weeks ago. They are growing by leaps and bounds, but I have noticed a slight nitrogen deficiency which I have hopefully corrected with a small dose of 10-10-10. I use mostly organic nutes, but I am still learning to manage the nitrogen levels.

Sweet Piranahs! This caught my eye because I'am new to fox farm I had just gone out today and picked up the grow and bloom!
I have a 55 gal with a couple crayfish and some other friends,And some pacu when I clean the tank I use a 5gal bucket then let the poop settle down to the bottem then cyphin that out into a milk jug or so.
In my case I doubt it would do any harm.Quick question~How much tsb are you putting in a gal? Im doing 2.5-3
~Thanks

i actually just figured out not to water with the grow big on the same days I water with my fish tank water + big bloom. Supposedly I read that the Grow big by fox farm is not organic and is chemical based, it will kill off the bacteria that converts your soils compost into nutrients. Anyways I am not sure how credible this is because I read it off another forum.

Thanks and btw I would of not allowed that cat around my plants anymore LOL

Also about the grow big i use 3-4 tsp and for the big bloom i do 3-4 tablespoons.

Here is the feeding scheduler link

DO NOT USE THE BIG BLOOM UNTIL WEEK 3. It f**ked up one of my plants using it in week one and I f**ked another up using it when the plant was a seedling. It is really not meant to be added to marijuana plants until at least 3 weeks from the time the seedling sprouts.

Hopes this helps!
