Foliar Spray

ok now i know this may sound daft, but has anyone used Sodium Free Seltzer water to spray their plants with during veg, after all it's 100% carbonated water, wasn't sure if it was a waste of time or beneficial, after all aren't we trying to give them as much oxygen as possible ?

Yes..... I have..... and it's for co2, not oxygen :) I used it instead of regular water as base for foliar. Add some Superthrive a couple drops of Shult'z and you have a nice foliar

Shultz is a gentle 10-10-10 for houseplants. 7 drops per quart... it is cheap, usually found right next to ST on shelf in garden center.

I'd just use seltzer than if you foliar that many times a day, or make an actual foliar feed mister and use a sprayer for misting just the seltzer?

iv'e been spraying them muliple times a day with just the seltzer, but if i add the superthrive & shultz how often can that be used

I had some sparkling water that had froze and lost it's fizz so I used it to water my plants. I didn't want to drink it and I didn't want to throw it away either, so I watered my plants with it in small doses. It is good to know that it can be used, especially for foilage feeding.

i just started doing some foliar feeding lately serapis, and i just used some worm casting's that i let oxygenate for about 24 hours with an air pump i had laying around, but i've been looking for some other things to use as well.. i may even try and replace the tap water with some seltzer instead.. sounds like a plan.. thanks for the tips serapis..

not to sound like a complete dumbass here serapis, but how can i tell if its low sodium or not?? or will it simply say low sodium right on the bottle, or will i have to look at the ingredients. and if so, just how much sodium would be considered low?? i'm sure the answer will be rather obvious, but they always say that there is no such thing as a stupid question, so... lol..

the main reason i have been spraying multiple times a day was my RH only been around 20 - 25, the spraying helped bring it up to 35 - 40, don't realy have the room for a humidifier & this helped somewhat, but now i like the idea of a basic foliar spray & use that only like once a day i'm guessing ?

Exactly....

A couple of times a day may be ok if your humidity is low, but be careful... constantly wet foliage tends to attract damp off, fungus and mildews... I only spray mine in the morning when i get up and go say hello to the ladies. It gives me a chance to check out the leaves, look for problems, and make sure timers and stuff are working. I once noticed a waterfarm with a clogged venturi intake early in the day, simply because I was foliar feeding and looking for problems... Had I skipped foliar feeding daily, I may have missed the potential disaster.

To increase humidity, buy a cheap Vicks cool Vapor humidifier and just used distilled water in it. The cost is $22 at CVS pharmacy in my area.

yah, me as well.. my rh has been right at 16 lately, and that simply won't work.. i did get one of those vicks humidifiers a few grows ago, but that damn thing had the opposite effect, and my rh was up over like 80 or so.. i never bothered to try and fine tune it with a timer or whatever, and simply pulled the damn thing.. i figured that the lower rh was better off then the higher rh..

Not in vegetation mode it isn't... get that humidifier back out and play with a timer.. :) try 15 on, 15 off, and see what your RH does.... when the humidity is too low, the stomata under the leaves is stressed and the passing of oxygen to the air is slowed. This in turn slows down photosynthesis and your growth rate. 16 is way low. i'm surprised the serrated edges of your leaves don't slightly curl. I'm waiting on my hygrostat operated humidifier... it was $60 bucks and ordered on the 18th, hasn't shipped yet and I'm pissed... at least we had rain come in today and humidity is back up to 55%.

yah, i know that the 16 is super low, which is why i've been trying some foliar spraying, lol.. i've also tried sitting out a couple of glasses full with water, but that doesn't seem to be doing shit to be completely honest..
where did you get the one your talking about serapis??

how does the hygrostat work on it?? i mean is it adjustable at all, or does it just reach a preset rh and then shut down on its own?? would be pretty sweet if you could set it where you want it to kick on and off at .....
