maggots in your compost

unusual or usual? cant decide

wondering that myself...was outside a little while ago today and decided to turn mine; much to my suprise there were maggots everywhere???

freaked me out too, was kind of grossed out. theres a bunch of them.

Completely normal. Don't worry, in under 15 days - they will fly away.

They are hard core munching machines & benefical in compost piles.

Maggots are fine, they most likley help by decomposing things and releasing more nutrients for your plants.

Halloween is coming.... lets recycle this one....... Maggots....more than just gross little wormy things....
