2nd grow. C'99 and Super Lemon Haze(feminized)

After successful C'99(Female Seeds) grow which I harvested two weeks ago, I started growing C'99 again cause of it's amazing odor while growing(no one would ever tell that you are growing MJ at home), nice tropical fruit taste and very uplifting energetic trippy high(see signature). But since I wanted something new as well, I decided to add my C'99 seedling a company of Super Lemon Haze from Greenhouse. Although this is still my second grow, I am limited by space and lamps and C'99 seedling went into sort of mutation, I am still being positive about those two sativa strains.
I germinated C'99 on Feb01 and planted into soil. It was growing normally, chute leaves > 1 finger leaves > and this is where it went crazy. She "topped" herself. And by that I mean that instead of next node being 3 finger leaves only one leave appeared clearly showing that there is no top up there.. Luckily someone in a RIU help thread calmed me down saying that side branches will appear. And it did.
Here's a pic of mutation on day 10 and 2 LST pictures of plant at day 19:

Last plant was growing 3.5 months for me(9weeks veg + 7weeks flower). Hopefully this time I will not need to veg plants that long, cause now I started with 150W of CFL light and plants are growing way faster. Since C'99 went two tops instead of one, I am planning to LST more or less like this:
LSTplan.jpg
This time I will stick with 14-18 nodes cause more than that is a bit too much and messy in a 3 gallon pot. Also will try in flower to lolipop side branches of trained side branches bellow like 3rd-4th node from top, since only those 3-4 top nodes are giving nice buds, the rest do not properly develop because of lack of cfl light penetration.
That much about C'99.

Can't wait to see how Super Lemon Haze will grow as well. It cracked a shell on valentines day and on 16th of feb it went out of soil. Feb 19th is her 3rd day out of soil and she's already 2" long. hopefully it will not stretch too much, I am keeping her 1-2inches from cfl lamp. We will see, anyway, her final destination will be 4 gallons pot. Here's a pic of her an hour ago:

Soil and nutes will be as in my first grow description w/ pics.

So... That being said, let the second grow begin!

Quite nice day I would say.. Finally I made myself a DIY reflector capable of vegging with cfl two plants and flowering with 150W hps. since my attic has low ceiling I had to work on a shape of reflector, but finally its there, hanging and making love with the light in front of the ladies..
Here are some pics of reflector.
Reflector_1.jpgReflector_2.jpgReflector_3.jpg

Also C'99 started to kick in, side branches are reaching out, everything like it should be..

Super Lemon Haze seems to be a bit slow.. but then again.. It's only 11th day, ant I saw it rooted quite a lot during past few days, so maybe will kick in as well in a week or so...

what a glorious day, today after 20 hours of darkness I switched to flowering. I don't know if excitement after 3rd or 4th grow will go away, but it feels so god damn good to see every morning and evening how plants went bigger and bigger :) Super Lemon Haze is giving me such a strong MJ odor, at least comparing to C99, which mainly smells like rhubarb(at least to my mind this was the closest smell I could think of). Also Leaves of SLH, JESUS :D even bigger than my palms, and my palms are not that small.. C99 got like 24-26 shoots and SLH - 8 plus main top. It is unbelievable, only two weeks difference, but the it differs like 3-4 times in size...
ok some more stats. C99 sprouted 46 days ago, so a bit more than 6 weeks of veg, SLH is 32 days old. When I was ordering ballast, I got root stimulator sample(100ml) as a gift from grow shop. I am not sure if it really works as it feels, but it feels like it works.. Also I realized how much the temperature is important. When I was keeping 80F (32C) plants were going crazy, when the weather got cold and that place at night became like 54-56F(13-14) and at a day time - ~65F (~19C) plants suddenly stopped growing.. Now I put a heater again in the room and voila.. it's growing again. C99 topped herself in the beginning and this is such a nice thing, plant is growing two directions and filled the bucket way faster. I am not sure why people to not do this, maybe not topping is more efficient.. or stress makes plant stop growing, or they turn into hermies.. would be happy if somebody could comment about that. I am afraid that 26tops for a 4gallon pot might be to difficult for a plant to form proper bud sites on all of them, maybe I should trim some of them?
Need to find that out as well.
And here are some pics.

thanks for comments :) way more interesting to grow when growing not alone :)

yesterday I failed so damn hard lol, I prepared the plant for 12/12, kept them for like 20 hours in darkness and then set the timer switch, and after it was ready I left them for 24hours alone, but only after 24 hours I realized that I forgot to turn the switch from "constant on" to programmed on/off, so even if it was setup correctly, it was shining all those 24 hours... so long story short, it was running 20/4 for all veg, then I switched to 16/8 for a couple of days, then 4/20 for one day and then - 24/0 for one day.. haha I hope plants will note explode with bananas on me for this fail.. so the actual switch to flowering will be tomorrow, after 24hours of darkness so girls would know for sure that now its really a time to dress up with resin and knit some nice buds...

6 days into flower. Amazing. Plants reacted really well to 12/12 light cycle, after 3-4 days first pistils appeared. Growing incredibly fast. Checking on plants 2 times per day and difference visually noticeable.. Sweeeet.. Nodes are streching quite a lot and that is good, cause finally there's some space for all of the nodes, not like one is under another. Still feeding with vegging Biogrow nutes + root stimulator, after one more week will be switching purely to flowering Biogrow nutes + "plant viagra"(or similarly called nutes for getting more resing out of plant).
Here are some pics at 5-6th day into flower. First two are of SLH (total 39th day), then 3 pictures of C99 (total 53rd day) and the last pic is at 6th day into flower

Well, looks like we started to flower about the same time. I believe I'm on day 7 or 8 of flowering. Looking really good, keep it up. How's the temps with that 150 HPS in there?

Actually temps are way lower than I expected. For now using only one computer fan to outtake heat from my DIY reflector. In total there is 1 150w hps and 2x 25W 6500K CFL. The light looks very similar to sunlight, not too yellow, not to blue.

Bought another PC fan for $3 from those chinese gadget internet stores willing to save money(here it cost 8-10eu), but its already 4th week and the item did not arrive yet lol, after contacting them few days ago, they apologized and said there has been some delay and that I will get it within 11 days lol.

It's a good thing that outside still is 32F so it cools the room, but on the whole I could not say that it gives that much of heat output comparing to 150W of cfl. If I would put the ballast out of room, it would be even colder. Once I will set up another 8cm fan computer fan for intake, I think it will be perfect. Even with one fan, keeping a lamp in a bit less than 20cm from tops is not too hot. Plants seem to love it. And I really had a lot of problems keeping cfls 1inch from plants, since they grow very fast I burned few colas.

looking good keep up the good work. i am interested in how much weight you pull off the c99.
i like the sounds of this strain for the fact it will not stink out my house to bad.
good luck will be checking your grow through flowering for sure.

yes, the strain is very decent. I am not a very intensive smoker, I smoke 1-2 times per week or so, usually if I'm having some guests. At first I was buying haze amnesia, it was very nice euphoric uplift, but damn, I would forget the sentence without even getting to the middle of it. And C99 is the same specs, maybe a little bit milder, but it puts a smile on my face and some very nice energetic buzz, if smoked in a calm environment a bit trippy, but it keeps my speech fluent although somewhat different cause people are rolling on the ground from the structure of it :))) Also from what I tried, G13 is more trippy and stronger but do not know trusted seed bank with this strain. Also C99 has a really special taste. But main nomination still goes for odor.. Love this strain.

This morning I was looking at that plant and thinking. Now it has 25 main shoots(~20 of them are at the same size, but like 5 of them are 1/2 size of those 20, so I am thinking maybe I should trim those small ones, because they get very little light and might not form proper buds. Also I am kind of thinking that maybe for 4 gallon pot 25 shots are too many? Last grow I was growing in 3 gal pot, and what happened I had like 18shots, but those smaller ones yielded very poorly and very squishy buds, so it's an idea to get rid of them and let the bigger ones get their energy.

Would be very nice if someone could advice me on this :)

Thanks for the feedback!

sweet wish i had some. really thinking that will be part of my next seed order.
as for the bottom/smaller parts of the plant anyway you can harvest the ready bud and leave the less dense stuff for a week or 2 and let it gain weight.
not that i have done this but seems to be the consensus that it does really help if you have the room and time.
i will be doing this with my cfl grow for the fact i am almost positive my lower stuff will not be mature and what is the point in not growing to your full potential.

What a weekend... Easters, bunnies etc.
Had some adventures with plant as well. Some pleasant surprises, some not quite. Anyway lets start with C99. What a lovely strain. it has like 15 really decent shoots. 5 of them are a bit behind like 2 inches. and 3 of them are half the size as those big shoots. Anyway, plant dropped already most of bottom foliage, bottom looks like a mini forest :) I started feeding plant with flower nutes. All shoots are already covered with pistils and quite a lot I would say. Here are some pics:
4.jpg3.jpg2.jpg1.jpg

However SLH is different story,
I thought that the bigger the plant gets the more nutes it will need.. well not quite so. Even if I was adding some biogrow nutes at a bit more than usual vegging dose recommended on instruction booklet second week in flowering plant started showing stress due to nitrogen excess. So the plant does not look that happy anymore, its leaves started bending downwards in canoe form however in help thread people quickly diagnosed this(god i love RIU) so yesterday I watered plant with plain water and added some home made humidity and this morning leaves are already forming canoe but bending upwards, not downwards as yesterday. Today will check on plants progress. For now here are some pics of super lemon..

SLH a lil touchy on N especially ammoniacal forms... advise do NOT revert solely to "bloom" or high P ferts if at all...still need N and high P is not needed and even detrimental to container plants regardless of popular forum/manufacturer/novelist hype to the contrary

C99 is an awesome strain for sure

very wise advice...moreso than light it is the redistribution of the auxins from the tops to the lowers which are now tops in a staggered harvest that will increase yield...also remember amber is BAD and signifies thc degradation into the nasty sleep inducing nasty feeling cbn

Also if you desire the signature c99 high chop here no later than 52 days after you switched to 12/12

Whoa very interesting advise. You seem to know strains very well :) Could you also recommend something else for my next grow? :) I was thinking of Kali mist, Jack Herrer, Hawaiian snow, or something trippy euphoric and more like a mind buzz. not the body stone?

I checked my ferts, veg has 4-3-6 and bloom has 2-7-4 of NPK. So if I understand you correctly, you say do not switch to flower nutes, but is it only for SLH or for C99 as well and all container plants? or maybe I should perhaps mix both veg and flower nutes at 1:1 ratio and make NPK of 6-10-10 ? In that case I would have N quite high and increased P and K. Or also an option would be to use only vegging nutes with "Top Viagra (PK-booster)" as they advertise "it increases oil and taste" I am just unable to find exact specs atm.

Also about cutting the big ones and leaving smaller ones, are you sure its a good idea? cause pistils are degrading both on big and small branches, so if I cut at 52nd day all the big ones, when I should cut down the smaller ones?

Thanks again for your help!
