How Did You Do In 2010?

My best year ever trading Stocks. I had a few losers (one dropped 30% in one day), but had gotten rid of them by June. All the stocks I currently own were really good to me this year, only one ended the year with zero gains, two ended with over 1000% gains, 3 had between 30%-60% and 4 had 15%-20%. Due to a couple good penny stocks(25% of portfolio) my average return in 2010 was 343%. My only Amex stock gained 59%, all other stocks are either Canadian or Australian and the majority of those are natural resource, junior mining/exploration. I did very little daytrading, what I did didn't pan out as well as hoped. I sold half my positions on any stock that made the break even point and everything else is just gravy.

My Physical holdings of Silver gained 77% and the gold gained 38%, bought those at the bottom, in Nov, 2008. over 200% up on silver and 110% on gold since then. Still buying.

2009 was a good year too, up 67% then, but 2008 sucked, loss of 16%. This year made up for 2008 and then some.

How was your year?

minus 40k playing poker while simultaneously "blow"ing through my 6 figure 2009 earnings, went broke (about 5k left), spent 4 months in jail, rented a house with my bro, started growing, pretty much went fully broke (under 1k liquid) got a shitty job next to my house for convenience and frequent bud breaks. Pretty much in that order. You could say 2010 was a rough year, but it put a lot in perspective.

Made a KILLING on SIRIUS. Converted it all into CISCO at year's end. CISCO is a bargain right now.

Steady improvement on everything else.

One setback, one of my holdings had a 15-for-1 reverse split, which reduced my holdings from the tens of thousands to the thousands. It's a pharmaceutical awaiting FDA approval on a new drug. In May I will know if I hit a home run or a bloop single.

only worked 3 weeks the whole year, stopped getting unemployment, yet paid all my bills and even played plenty of golf during the summer. still find it hard to believe that i made it all work out without any state support, but one always seems to find a way (again, not male prostitution).

beats sitting behind a desk, like 2008 and some of 2009. my bills got paid just the same, but it's hard to play golf from behind a desk. not to mention it sucks to be away from home and family for 9+ hours a day.

2011 will be even better. need to raise some scratch to get the electric re-worked since the landlord certainly won't and actually has a leg to stand on, i recently found out. even if that never materializes, i have a backyard now to fall back on, but that will make the first 10 months of 2011 very lean, just as lean as this year. but it will make for a very happy holiday season :leaf:

I was check to check the whole damn year. Plan on taking train to work since I drive 85 miles RT daily. Gas is at butt rape prices and stress is building up driving with these nutcases in traffic. Dude next door to my grandmothers house won the lotto ($193mil) and he took off without saying anything lol. He borrows lots of tools and returns them months later. My wife and kids are happy and healthy so that's all that matters.

2010 was by far my best year...lots of orders to fill and I filled them, happy lines of locals now. Me thinks its time for a holiday to the tropics.
