Help a meat lover become vegetarianish

I'd bet money that horse meat is healthier than the beef in the stores.

No hormones and grass fed all their lives.
Your probably 100% correct. I butcher my own Animals for meat, I have a friend with quite a bit of property and lets me raise animals there. I get 2 calf's a year and enough feed for them till it's time to butcher and give him one for his help and use of his land. Yes it is much more expensive than buying it from the store, but at least it's not Grade D Pink slime marked as Grade A beef. We buy all of our milk from a local farmer who gives it to us in a two gallon jar and the cream is still on top. We take the cream and shake it till it turns into our butter. I try to be as organic as possible, and agree that slaughter houses suck, and so do the conditions commercially grown animals live in.

I also Hunt, and Elk and Venison are more than half of my family's meat for the year.

You'd kill a horse trying to feed it the shit beefers eat and they're not pumped up with steroids. A lot of horses that end up at processing plants are old unwanted pasture pets.
Perhaps, but the old unwanted horse doesn't sound particularly appetising. I think cattle are slaughtered at 24 months, and I would suggest that a healthy 24 month old horse is far more valuable alive than dead. Who would want to eat a tough old horse?

Venison makes some goooooood chilli. The toughness helps it stay as solid meat through the low and slow cooking and doesnt turn to mush. haha.

Recently made some raw cat food for my cats out of a deer heart, deer liver, some bones and a good slab of meat. Along with some other essentials for cats added in.

they really loved it! I care more about my cats eating healthy than i do at this point hahaha. The best part was it was all free from a friend who went hunting recently.

So if any of you guys have pets and hunt look into some raw or even cooked pure meat home made pet food.

That's the thing about horses, their meat actually becomes more tender with age unlike beef.

Eating other things that once lived is kinda gross. I do it, but its almost like it's a nasty habit i feel gotta kick like smoking. You feel better when you stop and its not a natural behaviour you have to learn how to do both things (inhaling smoke, carving up a carcass to eat)

Lol @ eating meat not being natural. Also, good luck eating anything that was never alive.

No one did. Once again, the op asked a question and got called names and put down because of a personal choice. I showed up to defend him. If you read through my posts you'll see I consume meat. A lot less than the average American but I still eat it.

He got "put down" because he mentioned how much better he would feel about himself for not killing animals, which in turn IMPLIES that meat eaters are doing something he finds morally unacceptable....which is BULLSHIT.

Just because you can't hear that plant scream, or see it struggle, doesn't mean it's not a living thing KILLED for food.

Not my post but try this....

I don't do anything crazy with vegetables I just buy steamfresh vegetables like broccoli, broccoli cauliflower and carrots, potato blends etc, but I do not microwave them in the plastic. I take them out of the plastic, fill the bottom of a frying pan with some water not much, and boil them in the frying pan for about 5 minutes from the time that the water is boiling with the vegetables in it. After that drain the water, throw in a knob of butter or sprinkle with cheese (preferably not both, high fat content) and salt & pepper to taste, sometimes I can make a dinner out of vegetables alone. eturnFire333

I did not know that. Fair enough. I respect people who are happy to eat all species of animals and animal products. IMO, there should be no moral distinction between eating a horse, cow, rabbit, dog, cat, hamster, ... you get my drift.

I sauteed some onions and garlic in bacon grease yesterday then added some kale. Fried up some tofu and added some orange ginger glaze. No stress just deliciousness

Estamos en Barcelona y este opción no es posible aquí en este cuidad. El Raval tiene poco restaurantes vegetarían. Bon suerte! :)
I think you're saying that
"Vegetarian options are not available in your city, Barcelona"???
(Beautiful city, by the way).

Tapas - do they ALL contain meat???

I LOVE IBERIA
(notice I didn't say Spain).

Close...Brussels sprouts halved, light coat of olive oil, salt and pepper then lay on a cookie sheet; sprinkle with crushed walnuts and drape with bacon. Bake at 350F for 25-30 min. Ambrosia!

I made the decision to quit eating meat when I was half-way through a can of Hormel Chili, watching a video by 43Alley on Youtube. You should try it!

http://veganyackattack.com/ this lady is pretty bomb, her recipes can be a bit complex and have a lot of work into them but theyre great

56 grams of protein....right.

First, protein is NOT protein, and compared to any animal protein, vegetable protein is ass.

Second, most folks need about a half a gram of protein per pound of body weight, so while 56 g's of protein might be fine for a 112lb boy, that's not going to cut it for a grown ass man.

Third, an ACTIVE grown ass man needs more than a half a gram of protein per pound of body weight if they want to maintain their muscle mass, and more if they are trying to add muscle mass.

The difference animal protein consumption makes can be found by visiting lovely 3rd world countries that don't consume much animal protein, as they lack the musculature of those individuals raised in nations that traditionally do. My lean dudes were like body builders compared to most of the locals we ran into in lovely places like the middle east, north Africa, and central America, and my BIG dudes might as well have been rhino's by comparison.

People can talk shit about "fat" Americans all they want, but this fat ass country still kicks the living shit out of most of the world in Olympic competition, so it's not the available food, it's the choices lazy fat bastards make when it comes to dining and exercise.
