Ztelthy - midget plant..will it be ok ??

Hi, I have decided to do my last grow in my larger Stealth Cab... at present I am running 300w (250w MH & 2X 25w 6500K CFL's) and have planted a Blue Cheese seed over 3 weeks ago...the seed popped no problem after only a few days but since then.. its grown SOOOOOOOOOOO S-L-O-W-L-Y !! ... is almost 3 weeks old and is unlike any plant I have grown so far..

I was given some free seeds and I chose to pop the Blue Cheese... I want to pull at least 15oZ from this plant, it will be Scrog'd and LST'd.. BUT!! After almost 3 weeks its only 2" tall, it has 3 sets of ultra small leaves (less than 1.2" long and less than 1cm wide)... I have a feeling I am gonna have to go and buy some propper seeds or get a clone off a friend..

I may still keep this one on the go just to see what happens.. But have a feeling there's summink wrong with it !?

"I wanted to ask if anyone has come across a strain that does this? ..even better if its a 'blue cheese' *if what I have IS a Blue Cheese?? "

I'am thinking it maybe a dwarf or summink ? I've never grown a Dwarf/Auto plant before, so any light shone on this would be very much appreciated :) ..and rewarded with +REP! for the best and most helpful answers/in-put.. :)

Hope to hear from y'all soon

Regards

Anyone think this slow ultra small 3 week old plant could shoot up and prevail ?? or whether I'am headed for disaster and disappointment ? - ZTELTHY :leaf:

sup ztelthy, im kinda new to growing, but perhaps with some more info on how you have planted it? soil, coco, hydro etc etc. Big pot small pot?

i use to just pop my seeds in a 14L pot from the start and nothing more, and it can take some time for the plant to start growing tall when starting in a big pot.

anyhow, post a pic and/or some more info around your setup and how u've done stuff so far and i'll try and help u out

Hi dude, ok, I am growing in 35L DWC Containers with double air-stones...the water is very well aerated .. I am using CANNA AQUA Nuits..and later on will also be using ROX, and CHA-CHING :) I've grown a good dozen plants before...but never had one quite so small as the one pictured above.. I bought the 'Blue-Cheese' seeds off E-Bay... they were 10X seed @ £10, but I think I am beginning to see why... I cannot tell by looking at it whether it is a Blue-Cheese, or whether its some sort of Dwarf/Auto..

I just cant figure why its so tiny after 3 weeks from germination ?? its really compact and tiny.. ??

I am seriously thinking about getting another seed on the go...

any thoughts ??? - ZTELTHY :leaf:

Well if it's that small it's probably something to do with the genetics. What medium are you using, nutes and PH?

I'm with the other on the genetics, dosent mean it wont turn out good tho, how are the roots on it?
I dont really know anything about DWC, is it the method when you spray water underneath the plants directly on the roots?

Anyhow, if there are alot of root on it, the plant might be focusing on growing roots a bit more before redirecting its focus on growing tall =) who knows.

try and re-plant it in soil in a small pot ((half Litre or so)/(0.12-0.2 gallon) for a week or two, and see if it likes that better then DWC. if it starts to grow you could allways put her back in your dwc system?

Right! ....I have decided to replace the Midget Blue Cheese in exchange for a CRITICAL PLUS by DinaFem... I should be getting the feminised seeds next week. Its a bit of a set back...(almost a Month :( ) ...but in the long run it'll be much more worth it... I may add the little miget plant in my other DWC tub (just for shits n giggles) :) :) - ZTELTHY :leaf:

Critical Plus Feminised plants are a hybrid cross of Big Bud and Skunk which produce an amazingly strong skunky odour and flavour, even when used with tobacco. It was the winner of the first High Life Cup in Barcelona. It has a fairly typical sativa growth pattern until flowering, producing many branches with quite short internodal length. At this stage it is a good idea to control height potential by topping or bending as this plant goes into overdrive during flowering producing copious quantities of heavy buds which may need some supporting. So fast is this blooming sequence that it can be harvested after only 45 - 50 days indoors when given 12 hours of light per 24 hour cycle.
A fantastic plant for SCROG systems indoors it is also a precocious strain for outdoors usually finishing by the end of September. The fast nature of its flowering means that even if conditions are a bit still (lack of breeze) and humid and mould ensues it can still be harvested quickly without too much compromise in terms of either quality or quantity. High resin production, great taste, fantastic effect!
Critical Plus Feminised specifics:

  • Cannabis genetics: Big Bud x Skunk
  • Type: Indica / Sativa hybrid
  • Flowering: 45 - 50 days
  • Harvest: By end of September outdoors northern hemisphere.
  • Environment: indoors, outdoors, greenhouse
  • THC: 12 - 16%
  • Seeds in pack:
  • 3. 5 and 10 feminised cannabis seeds

Looks promising :) - ZTELTHY :leaf:

I'd get more lighting, or upgrade to something more even though 300 watts and your other light is fine, I'd upgrade to a 600 or 1000 watt and watch it grow a lot better.

I gotta quick question, I am going to be using CANNA Aqua and and the rest of the CANNA line-up... But will be swapping PK 13/14 for A.N HAMMERHEAD PK 9/18 ......and I also plan on using Fox Farms CHA-CHING in late Flower! Here's my question...I am aware CHA-CHING should be used at half the recommended measures BUT! Should I cut back on any of the other Canna Nuits, or the HAMMERHEAD PK formula etc.. when applying the CHA-CHING ???I will be keeping a very close eye on both EC, PH and PPM and want to maintain optimum levels all round but really need some friendly informative advice on applying CHA-CHING and adding it to my mainly Canna feeding schedule.Any and all help will be very appreciated,Cheers - ZTELTHY :leaf:

Sounds like a runt to me. I normally crack more seeds than I need and disregard the runts. However, with a couple of strains - killing fields, and mad shack from Sannie - I decided to take the runts into flower. The killing fields runt was the last to start flowering (nearly two weeks after the others), and ended up far shorter than the rest, but surprisingly was the most sativa. Took her 13weeks to finish, and she was some of the best smoke I've ever smoked, almost pure haze in taste and buzz, yielded almost as much as her bigger sister by the end too. The mad shack runt is in my current grow and she is looking a bit sorry for herself. Major cal/mag issue that I'm not dealing with at all really. She's shorter than the other mad shack in there, but she has set herself for flowering. I'll just have to wait and see how she turns out. Just as you must with your blue cheese; she could surprise you and produce amazing smoke. Hope it turns out ok in then end! *edit - didn't read the end of the thread. R.I.P blue cheese runt* ;-)
