I hear people say they are gonna drive 3 hrs to and fro to shop. I also hear people say never again after meeting me. What are your personal thoughts on store quality, quality of items if on sale, and quality control between batches at stores

I was going to cast a vote but it’s 50-50 for me sometimes I get some bud from the dispensary that’s bad ass then sometimes I get some that is junk so it’s 50-50 sometimes I have better herb than the store sometimes I don’t but I will say there’s almost always has a better look because it’s been trimmed down to nothing

I’ve bought “top shelf” buds from places and have found remanence of bug damage. A $40 1/8th to the door after taxes is more like $65. Makes me sick. I’ll never go back to buying from deliveries or dispensaries. With my own grow I know exactly what I used and gave it the care and energy needed. Not to mention the taste and terps are 100 times better growing it myself. And I’m not smoking pest shit. Not saying all weed is like this from store or deliveries but it’s all a gamble. Can’t even trust the pics before you buy.

That's what it's more about to me, having control over how it's grown and what goes in and on it. I'm sure there's some amazing dispensary bud that blows my homegrown out of the water but it does just fine for me and the terps are better in my opinion because it's taken better care of it and cured properly. Hopefully when VA goes recreational next year there's going to be at least some decent concentrates available like carts as I like having different choices and those I can't do at home.

Ive had expensive dispo weed in Chicago and Vegas, 9/10 times its been meh and was drying out in its lil container for months too long. Had nugs in chicago that had the unmistakable smell of mold, and in vegas it was so dry that i crumbled it up into dust with ease. Multiple brands and price levels, it was mostly poop.

Probably too late to change it, but I feel like the way the poll options are worded a person (particularly a stoned person) could get confused between Option 1 and Option 3. Might've been better to be a little clearer, i.e. "My cannabis is better" vs "The dispensary's cannabis is better" or something along those lines.

Anyway, I've heard tell that there's good flower at some of the nearby dispensaries, but I have to say, I haven't reliably experienced it. Sure, on occasion I've enjoyed flower from a dispensary, but I wouldn't say I enjoyed it enough to justify the cost (usually $60 per eighth with taxes etc). Frankly I have almost no interest in trying other dispensaries when I have way more than enough of my own flower, which I'd argue is on par if not better. Sure, by this time of the year last year's outdoor isn't nearly as nice as it was in the fall and over the winter (I don't refrigerate it or anything, just leave it bagged in an airtight heavy duty cooler in an unheated outbuilding), but I don't have to pay for it and I don't have to trek to a dispensary and deal with that scene.

I can't say I've called my old dealer in... a year and a half... but while their herb varied between decent-if-not-spectacular kind bud and pretty darned good... the price difference between them and the dispensaries meant I'd turn to the dealer unless I was hard-up and having a hard time making our schedules meet up. I've also usually had friendly long-term relationships with dealers, which for me was a very different experience from my corporate-dispo encounters.

The last time I bought at a dispo was a month or so back, which was probably the first time I'd been to one in a year - and to be entirely honest I mostly went in because I had promised my wife a restock on edibles months ago and happened to be next door. I was semi-impressed by the first bowl I smoked, and then it went downhill from there. Basically got me high once, then diminishing returns, and while the bud seemed like it was at a nice level of dryness when I first opened the jar... it began crumbling to dust really quickly. I can't say I've opened that jar in a few weeks but I think I probably still have a few nugs left in it.

75% of dispensary weed tested throughout the US has been shown to have E coli contamination.
I'm a big fan of arbitrary % too. The real # is quite high, but shrinking as growers adopt proper clean room procedures, particularly during trimming. Any grow that still hires a bunch of travelling long-hairs to trim gets a free dose of E-coli contamination, but that's part of the traditional American weed industry! Where do you think those elusive "baby poop" terps come from?

None of the dispensary weed compared to mine. Not being bias it just doesn’t smoke the same. I did have some jungle cake I got at a dispensary in Denver that was fire as fuck though

I recently went into a new one that opened up in town to pick up some edibles, which are typically the only thing I purchase from a rec store. Decided to grab a couple of grams of some flower that looked pretty nice and was priced decently. I loaded up a bowl in the volcano and the vape tasted like chemicals so bad that I ended up throwing away the actual bag because the taste wouldn't go away. I'm not sure if rec growers can still get away with using PGRs, but the flower looked similar to stuff I've seen where the grower used PGRs.

That has been a lot of my experience too. Some has even had good flavor and potency but some gnarly backend chemicals.
Idk if its true PGR's, pesticides or just somebody trying to bump yields by running a bloom booster hard until harvest but the end product sucks and doesnt even seem safe

I probably was so high I thought it was worded extra well

I have had great bud in colorado and some just ok. I don't like the dispensaries that have pre wieghed out containers. Not sure if the bud tenders pinch here and there for some smoke, or the storage in those plastic containers just dries the buds out enough to drop weight. I feel like they were always short. There was one place I really liked that weighed out your jar in front of you.

I have never really been impressed with NM dispensary weed.

2 Of the 4 plants I grew indoor over the winter is some of the best weed I've ever smoked and knowing exactly what went into it makes it even sweeter.

My vote is grow your own if you can, if you cant find a good dispensary you can trust.
