You guys think this would outlight a DE 1000w Fixture?

I ordered something similar from another manufacturer on Alibaba. They will be here tomorrow according to FedEx. Mine are less powerful at 720w each. First thing I’m doing is hooking up to a killawatt meter. The company I got mine from has them from 660w-1200w (claimed wall watts not that LED equivalent BS).

Shipping was around $120 per light. They have 8 bars each. I’m hoping to light up 5’x8’ space but can shrink or have room to expand depending on the light.

They claim to use top bin Samsung lm301h/b and osram reds. The efficiency is around 2.9 and the par map shows over 500 at all corners of a 5x5 IIRC. I’m not sure I believe any of it but for only around $1000 shipped, I was willing to risk it. I either get a piece of crap or a decent light I can use for the next year or two. I don’t expect it to last much longer and I don’t care if it does. I figure there’s gonna be some crazy new tech available that I’ll want to use by then.

If it’s crap my buddy has some HPS lights he’s not using and I’ll use these to veg or some shit.

From what I’ve seen, it looks like these Alibaba bars are being branded and sold for 2 or 3x more on grow store sites. I’m aiming to cut out the middle man and save some cash.

That’s reassuring and would be awesome if true. The part I’m most worried about is the driver. It’s not a Meanwell. It’s a proprietary driver from the manufacturer but the alibaba rep said it was made by Sosen. Drivers are easy enough to replace if those fail.

Hopefully they show up on time tomorrow. Super anxious to check them out.

I was well aware of the risk when I made the order. Worst case scenario I have some HPS on standby.

I honestly am only really expecting a year out of these things. Any more than that would be great. Thanks to Covid my “fun” money isn’t being spent on the usual stuff so I was willing to take the $1000 gamble on these bars.

Depends on the LEDs used and how hard they are driven and if there is adequate thermal management.

I think Cutter advertises a 5 year warranty on some of their kits.

Your newer board uses Nichia Optisolis diodes and Cree photo reds right?

Do you know what diodes are used in the first boards you bought?

You've obviously never worked with good distributors from alibaba then. When I had pin heatsinks made, I had THREE separate profiles, differing widths, heights and thicknesses. They sent me a blueprint to confirm before milling and when I got them, they were immaculately packed and absolutely perfectly made and anodized. Couldn't have been happier and saved HUNDREDS.

Your posts are making me excited for my lights. I talked to a ton of distributors before setting on these so I didn’t go in blind.

If these end up being as good as advertised then they are pretty much the same price and building your own even with shipping.

Really depends on heat management throughout its life and current being used. But they say 50,000 or so hours before you lose only 10% of brightness output. So.... That's OVER 10YEARS if you had them on for 12hrs a day, EVERYDAY.

Alibaba L/90 lights? Really? I do not believe the claim as i saw recently on another skimpy bar light. No B ratings right? They are Not obligated to tell you that like say a Samsung made light from HLG is because it is made by Samsung.
Just because you bought the right size metal off Alibaba does not justify stating an Alibaba light is what it's claimed to be.
No offense bud.
I call BS.
