You Don't Top Auto's Right?

High folks, not a newbie, but I am new to indoor growing and auto's. I'm assuming that since they're "dwarfs," that it would be pointless to top them, right?

With such a short veg cycle, I assume that you won't make up for lost time/veg when you top them.

Any input vastly appreciated!

ya toping a auto would prolly be a waste of time and bud site's as it's not gonna have to mutch time to recuperate from the lose befor it flowers

pruning is just a way to redirect plant energy, you could top if the crown effect is what you are looking for

I have heard the dinafem roadrunner, an auto, can easily grow to 4 ft. If I topped an auto it would not be so much to keep it short but to try to get more colas up on top.

Thanks guys Since they are too small to tell their phenos, I'm gonna wait and see. If they start to vert quickly, those will be topped. It's Nirvana Short Riders, but they don't tell you any other info about the strain. I wish I had more specific info about the seed.

And I agree also that topping is for more colas, if there is ample veg time.

if the plant hasnt sexed yet then topping it could be done for more colas on top. if you were to top it after it actually started flowering you could really decrease your yeild and the success of the plant (if growing indoors). if growing outdoors then a top would not be that big of a deal because you could use a nugging method where you just cut off buds as they mature. if outdoors then a top could be benificial once the main cola reaches maturity to allow the rest of the colas to mature the cut them and so on and so on. eventually the plant will stop producing flower due to old age.

i disagree, i will top up until 1.5 weeks flower and i push more weight outta my blue dream than anyone i know, i will also continue pulling straglers from the bottom. i think it is entirely strain specific.
