You Dont need Light to Sprout from seed??

True.

When I was about 12 my first experience germinating pot seeds was taking a few from one of my brothers bags and planting it into a small rubbermaid container full of dirt. I took this container and hid it under the bed. I had no intention of growing a plant, I was a kid, and curious. Basically just screwing around..... I put it under there and forgot about it. No light whatsoever, the bed had a cloth "skirt" around the bottom which kept light out, and it was pushed all the way back to the rear wall. A month later I had returned to find numerous outstretched seedlings, dead. They grew, but once they got a few inches they perished. Lack of water and light will do that. :P

Looking back on that nearly twenty years later is quite amusing.... lol

Anyways, hope that helped answer your question.

First let me start by saying i no nothing about growing. I got the book buds for less and in the book it says that the soil ph is 5.1 so they made the water ph 7.4 how did they come up with 7.4. What if the soil ph was 5.5 or 6.0 then what would the ph of the water be. HELP:weed:

I would suggest starting your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's with something completely unrelated to the topic at hand.

ive had seeds that i forgot aobut and 2-3 days later ive found them living in the dark, but if you leave them too long they will die.

this is true but the seedling is much less healthy and does not start producing its own chloroplast until it gets put under light. youll get a day or more head start by sprouting under light too. just use a CFL. any light will help. your plant will thank you.

Plants need light. Simple as that. Right now tho 400w mh is a bit too much. you can get away with a cfl or some low hanging regular shoplight flouros....
