Yield differences between auto breeders?

question for the more experienced auto growers out there.... Is there really/have you noticed or seen evidence to suggest a noticeable difference between yield between the same strains from different breeders?

I've always grown from cheaper seed breeders and had decent results. The only breeders i've ever used are vision seeds, speed seeds, and auto seeds (once). Ironically the quickest and probably highest quality (in terms of high, smell, and taste) herb i grew was auto blue berry which was 4 bucks a seed.

I've recently built a larger grow cab that can facilitate one big plant (4 feet tall by 2 and a half feet wide and deep). I'm debating on spending a bit of extra money to perhaps try a dutch passion, dina fem, mephisto, ect. with a 6 gallon pot instead of a 4 gallon ect to facilitate a larger yield. Are the yields really different strain to strain or are you paying more money for more stable genetics, higher germ rate, ect? I'm mainly looking for a indica leaning strain that is high yielding with good taste and smell characteristics. All input is appreciated.

Breeding results vary among ALL autos .... autos can be good or bad . Many including myself always say Mephisto . Dinafem , Hazeman , HSO , Bomb are great breeders so far , but there are many others that give fire .... greenhouse , blimburn , fastbuds for example.

It really comes down to the grower and what they DON’T do when growing autos .
Allow it to root out the best it can during its short veg stage , some light training , proper lighting , at least 20/4 or 18/6 cycle , controlled feeding and watering ...... and you will get dank.

Plug and play plants. A few breeders offer a mixed set of seeds that are auto or pick good strains like kush , NL , Blueberry , Durban Poison.

I do nothing but autos and like them over regulars.
For Big plants go hempy bucket, Water Farm , hydro , SOILESS .
For soil , look for lighter aerated mixes .... peat or coco .
With the proper medium , you can let plant feed off of host soil and water only as needed.
Then when hits preflower and budset , you can begin to introduce bloom Nutes as stretch tapers off.

LST the plants to open inner budsites to light and air.
Forget the “ harvest time window “ as stated by breeder .... run them til FULLY MATURED which will usually finish under 90 days. 8 week strains often go 10 weeks ( or so ) to get ripe. Let them go as long as they need .

I chucked an freebie auto outside in soil and didn’t really give it much attention , ended up giving me 2oz (it was a diesel of a sort but can’t remeber the breeder. so I made anorder and got 10 diff autos , got 1 in soil and 4 in coco+ perlite outdoors during the day and under a low watt MH and a fluro at night to give it a few extra hours . I’m in the middle of summer tho

In decent conditions I have been averaging about 4oz a plant with Dutch passion, mephisto genetics - strains that are bigger. Some strains just don’t grow as big I’ve found. Something like Walter white or auto Colorado cookies have been consistent for me.. one of those could very possibly fill your cabinet. Def not the most experienced grower but for the past year I’ve been harvesting multiple autos every 3-4 weeks with those results

Edit- I also top at the third node and lst after that.

Hey Buddha, wondering if i can get you're opinion on a few underwhelming babies. Front 3 are Meph Gold Glues and back 1 is Strawberry Nuggets. The GG popped above ground 11/30 and the SN on 12/5 that means front 3 are about 4 weeks and the back is 3. You can see the 2 on the oitside are horrifically small. I believe this is due to me ripping off 1 colydoton when the shell was stuck on the seed even after opening. Are the front and back 2 looking aboit right on time and woeth keeping the far left and right ones at this point? They are in 2.2 gal pots of coco and i feed about 1/2 a liter a day at this point because they are so small. They get 2 ml cal/mag, 6 ml Micro and 9 ml Bloom. Im not one that feels not having grow and using Bloom. Before flower hurts me so if it aint broke dont fix it. I never get leaf discoloration so i like it. 135 watt QB but have a second. Is about 18-24" at the moment. Feel like i should've well cut the far left and hoped the far right would bounce back but just doesn't look like it. Thanks for any advise. Concidering letring them air out for a day in between next watering. They also have air domes in the bottom of pots as they are autopots.

What cycle you on ? PH used for coco medium ?

IMO introduce a veg feed ... yes they “ should “ be a bit bigger by now but they look relatively healthy to me .

But sometimes some auto stock misfires and drags . Slow growth , runts , etc.
These are not ready for any bloom Nutes anyways so giving them a little nitro from veg Nutes.
Since they are not cooperating much , increase cycle to 20\4 or 24/0. This will force it to grow out .
You MAY have to treat them like regular photos. Once they get with the program let them veg out til either they begin preflower or at least 12” tall then flip them.

Main thing NOW is to stimulate these plants to move forward .... if there is no sign of ANY growth even with more light ( cycle ) then you may have to cull them.

They are already on 24/0. This is the first time im using 2.2 gal pots as well. Usually use 3.9 and water every 4-5 days for first 4 and by 3 weeks they usually have 5 and sometimes almost 6 nodes. I figured with the air domes and smaller pots i could water a bit but everyday. Ph is always 6.0. They do get N from the micro nutes as well. If it matters, there was originally 4 Gold Glues and 1 never made it. When i dug her out it was squishy and brown. I had to peel off the seed casings on other 3 and 1 was easy and the other 2 had white skin like covering to clydotons even after the shell came off. The White shit is what pulled 1 leaf off both of the small ones. Possibly just something to do with Glue genetics? I usually end up doing very well straight from the get go but these are giving me a serious run. I figured id let the coco dry oit abit and try feeding every other day or maybe every 3 days to see if they grow bigger.

I've had 4 grows with autos and I love them! Hard to handle regulars inside due to size.I lst always. Last grow was the best in yield & quality. Did things differently and it worked for me. Used cloth 7 gal. bags, looked more like 5 gal. to me. Used Ffof soil. Added a little perlite, bat poop, and used jungle juice, 3 set, as directed. They were great! Wish I had weighed it all but will next time. Moving real soon so waiting to start the next grow.

i'd cut back on water to every 2 days maybe every 3 days ..I damn near let all my plants starve for water (I use soil) I always have sometimes to the point of wilting and then feed and they blast ….my root systems are always huge because they are searching for water I know people are gonna say im stressing them and they are gonna herm but in over 25 years ive only had maybe 4 herms if that and I have always watered like this ….when my pots feel light after 3-4 days I water when I use 5 gallon buckets I water about every 5-7 days my plants are healthy and I got roots from the bottom to the top of the bucket ….NOT ENOUGH WATER WILL SLOW GROWTH BUT SO WILL TO MUCH WATER ….
