thats not just yellowing though, its that spotted burned color indicative of over-fertilizing. check out the really bad leaf in the second picture, looks like classic nute burn to me.
how long did those plant last in ur avatar???

I've grown bean plants to maturity in agar, but these were tomato plants that we cut and inoculated at ~10 days old. theoretically I could grow a plant to maturity and beyond in this setup. given the right vessel, and the right nutrients.
