Yellow tips

First time growing and all was going fine until this started happening. Had this problem before but it was heat from lights so i watered and moved light and leaves went back green in a day or two, its still warm but in there but I dont have a therm yet but will have one this weekend. All the research I've done makes it seem like i need some nutes. Seeds are from really good bag off the street but still from a bag so im not expecting greatness just wanna start with a good foundation of knowledge before i start spending real money. MG soil for seedlings and cuttings, friend gave me Osmocote 14-14-14 but its time released and I have read not to use that. Any help would make awesome.

So the base of the problem is that MG soil, like you said those time release non sense will keep you guessing from the beginning. But I mean everyones done it before its cheap soil and your just "experimenting" so dont want to invest all at once. No problem, its in there now but we can probably narrow our guesses. Shes looking nice and green so here we go:

1. get a bigger pot to put it in, this will help keep your soil more stable rather than a small cup which can fluctuate a lot.
2. start slowly feeding, 1/4 strength should be fine. Remember to feed, water, water, feed and keep a close eye on here at this stage you don't want to over feed her especially with those time release feeders in the soil.
3. look into some secondary supplements like calcium and mag they help strengthen foliage and MG soil doesnt have too much of the secondaries so its going to need it.

start there and see where it takes ya.. Good luck

Thanks all, ihave a friend that told me MG is crap these days but it said for seedlings so I bought it, she told me to get moisture retentive soil and some 10in pots, I don't want the girls to get really big is that pot size good enough, I just want some clones to put in my aero set up

Speaking of areo, please please please tell me where to find the best thing to put my clones in befor i put them in net pots. I see people say use rockwool and people say dont use it, im almost to the point of just using packing peanuts cause i see that they work well for drainage and i dont want root rot once i start using this thing i've had for years.

well, i've never grown in it

Got ph tester looks closer to 5 than 6 and this is after black spots developed and leaves started falling off. I looked around and figured I over fed and flushed and things are looking better. Got free pots from lowes so some good news will be transplanting shortly.

I like Oasis cubes and Hydroton, myself. I dislike rockwool because it leaches and tends to get waterlogged. cn

Ok, first thanks to everyone for all the great info, you guys are filling in the blanks cause I know a little bit about growing but not all I need to. Now the BS, not knowing what i was doing and financial procrastination had me vegging for about 4 months, found some nutes that are 10-15-10. Added nutes to water, tested water, came out light green. According to the ph info thats around 6.5 which I read was what it need to be and i still get black spots. But there's always a bright side, out of 24, 8 made it and only 3 are guys, thanks again to peeps at RIU for having pics to tell the difference, if I could, I'd pass it to you guys anytime.

New light and more nutes have things looking better for the now 3 females, thanks again for all help next grow will be epic in comparison.
