newly formed bud sites are a very light green, almost yellow color. Is that normal

Ya thats normal. The new plant growth always shoots out a pale color, then turns darker green. So dont think you need to start pounding nitrogen to her. This pale color you see is most visible when the plant is growing rapidly. So your doin somthing right right now. Good lookin.

Are the new tips normal otherwise?They aren't thickened at all? If they look thicker than the new sites before consider a boron deficiency which is more common than many know about. Your water pH being too high or too low can cause the plant to have a problem with uptake.
