Great harvest Brandon ...

One pound of wet bud, eh? I predict that you'll end up with 5.25 ounces of quality, dried bud after all is said and done.

i was wondering how big a difference the lights make. i'm in the middle of my first harvest and all the buds are tiny. i have 11 plants and i'll be lucky to get 4 ounces! there's a lot of buds, but they're just no big. we used 1,000 watt MH m bulbs, we had 2, but one broke in a 15 x 6 sq. ft. area. so i drew them all close in to the light. they have never gotten any bigger, now they are turning brown ready to pick, but small. what is the single most important thing anyone can do to grow the buds bigger? bigger pots? different nutrients? i used a hydroponic solution for big buds. or is it the red spectrum lights i didn't have. also another question; 12 hours on and off didn't work. after 5 weeks i cut the light down to 8 hours. i did this for 3 more weeks. then i increased the lights to 11 hours on, this change seemed to speed up the rippening. thanks for any help, i've felt like a failure and it's taken since may. thanks everyone for being a part of this great site!

well i dunno, it might be the nutrients you were using and possibly the mH light. i only have the 400w light but i have both mH & hps bulb for it, in a 3'x2'x4' space. the other thing is the weird light schedule, you might have just stressed the plants too much and shocked em to produce small buds. the nutrients i used in soil were fox farm. grow big for veg. big bloom and tiger bloom for flower. also i used botanicare "sweet" which is exspensive, but it seems to swell buds great and helps produce resins..but if i were you i would keep the 1000 w in that space. but get a hps bulb for flowering. and use the 18/6 hr veg cycle, and 12/12 hr flower schedule(very important). the most important things for your plants are light/air/water...so make sure to keep close attention to that, especially if you want a good harvest.......what kind of system are you using?? and what kind of seeds did you use??? anyway this is my first time growing, and im quite happy with what i got and the experience all together. my big piece of advice would be invest in a quality indoor grow book. i used jorge cervantes indoor bible and it is packed full of info and tips, way more than i think i can help with...but check it out...also, try your best to learn from your mistakes, and use that knowledge to further your next project...but hell man little buds are still smokeable buds!!!!!!!!! fire it up....:joint:

The ideal is to shoot for at least 50 watts per square feet of growing space. If your setup can stand the heat, the more watts the better. The small buds indicate that your lighting methods are in need of improvement.

Well, something is not adding up there. If you have 2 lights, both 1000w, you should be doing a lot better. With only one 1000w lamp, you should light a 4x4 area very well. With 11 plants, can you fit them into 16 square feet?

I caught that too, potroast. I'm wondering what kind of lights he's using? I mean, shop lights won't work, right? *lol*

i'm sure you're right about the lighting, at least i'm feeling like that's the biggest problem because i didn't have enough of the red spectrum. i'm curious, do you add in the hps lights for flowering, or do you totally switch to hps? i had one small hps that i used the rest were mh (2 1000w). also i would like to add a big thank you to everyone for you're help. i'm trying to improve and learn from my mistakes. it's a little disheartening since i started with this in may! the seeds were from a friend, nothing special. 3 different strains from what i can tell. another question that i couldn't find much on is regeneration. i had planned to regenerate while i start some new plants from seed bank seeds. why don't more people seem to regenerate? thanks again, i'll try to get some pictures today.
