As my first official grow I'll be growing 2 Blue Mystic AF's in cocotek coco coir & powered by various CFLs.

09/29/13
Germinated seeds placed in solo cups

09/30/13
One of the seeds sprouted!!:hump:

10/01/13
Still only one seed sprouted. In the cup without a sprouted seed I dug down a bit only to find the seed is cracked open & has a healthy looking tap root but for some reason will not pop.

-----------------------------------------

I will be posting just about everyday of the progress & hopefully I'll have at least a few following this thread to chime in & give me some pointers!!

during this time if u can keep the planters in a warm room 80 84 ish this will keep the soil warm and promote faster growth
for next time use a jiffy plug ..........and get them out of solo cups unless u want to keep it small............auto flowers are quick and fast with it in a container the ammount and size of the over all plant will be very limited.............auto flowers do not responed well to transplanting with the short life spans they have

Good to know because my temp stays at about 82. Also I was planning on transplanting after the first week in the most non stressful way possible.

if u can

FFOF..........fox farm ocean forest is some great soil good for the growth u just worry about phatting the flowers up

air soil bags/smart bags .............are the shit they make flushing easy and the roots do not ball up and choke self out

last thing if u are not going full organic feed system .............u must have a soil ph tester and ph water tester/upping and downing solutions for the lvls..........try to balance the feed water to 6.5 6.8 range

oh with soil 1 gallon of soil is one month of growth time ..............so auto flowers of like 120 grams u can do in a 3 gallon pots .......but the ones that are listed 250 450 u want to use atleast a 5 to 7 gallon pot

As for pH I have a kit that comes with pH up and ph down and the color tester but in the near future I will have a real pH tester because I know just how important those are!! On a side note I believe the coco should have a pH of 5.5 to 6.5 or am I wrong??

Both seedlings had "helmet head" and thanks to tek I was able to take off their "helmets" with ease. If you look at the pictures the first two pictures are of the 3day old Mary who has a deformity in her cotyledons from having "helmet head" . The last three pictures are of Jane who is 2 days old. Yesterday I knocked over her cup exposing her taproot and I knew this would stunt her growth but she looks like she's growing just fine.

Do you guys think everything looks good for a 2/3 day old plant? Hopefully soon more people will sub so in case I make a mistake or if you have a tip for me I'll know.

Look good man, You'll notice rapid growth around day 20 but beforehand the growth is rather slow. So don't be alarmed when your plant is growing kinda slow it's a normal thing for cannabis plants.

Thank you man that's exactly what I wanted to hear! I had it set in my mind that autos are supposed to grow fast but mine were growing slower than normal.

Also, if anyone out there is good with coco can you answer this question for me.. I've been warned numerous times to never over water but with coco I thought you were supposed to water pretty much every day or even 2-3 times a day??
