A few comments regarding this U.S. based seed vendor out of Oregon. A few months ago I ordered 5 packs of Kurple Fantasy from them at a very fair price, paid by Paypal I think (or was it a charge card?) and they arrived quickly and safely, maybe in 5 days. They were put in wet paper towels quickly after a week or two. Unfortunately, only about half of them popped. I'm used to getting around 98% germination and after 30 years or so, I've been doing this longer than most of you.......

So it left me scrambling to fill the other half of the room. Quickly I started some Aztec Rain, Purple Storm, Sugar Punch, all 3 off of Sannie's web site and 3 Jew's Gold from DNA which were freebies. I'm happy to report the room is looking fantastic and if the thread gets viewed a bunch, I'll post a pic or two.

So, back to Seedsherenow......as you can imagine, I was a bit disappointed (OK, I was pissed). I sent an email to their customer service not asking for anything other than an answer to a question," are you getting other complaints regarding this strain's germination rate?"

Dusty, the customer service person, was nice enough and seemed actually surprised about the issue. She said there hadn't been other complaints but would make a note of it and offered me an additional pack for free which I declined. She knew I was pissed, but I was calm, nice enough but still aggrevated by the extra work and having half the room was going to be around 10+ days behind. She did send me an email after a day or so offering me a 10% discount on my next order and if I sent her the order #, she would include an additional gift. It's more then most of the re-sellers would do, good for them.

Now it's almost 7 weeks later now, I'm in my 3rd week of flowering. I pinched most of the plants once to control flowering height and otherwise it's been an easy, very healthy grow. I spent last night looking at others' grows to see flowering times, and check any other deficiencies that may occur deep into flowering. Low and behold, what do I find- a number of similar complaints regarding the strain, also gotten from seeherenow.com.

BUSTED!!!!! Look here on RIU for 1-2 of them- same exact thing, germination issues, only about 50% rate or so. I also saw other complaints mentioned on ICMag and others places too. They obviously lied to me and were well aware of the problem long before my initial email.

I've seen enough bad seeds over the years to know these are "old" seeds......a number of them popped but had no energy to grow- a sure sign of seeds past their prime. The seeds were cheap, and with an offer of buy 5, get 6. So it's not about price or convenience. Just, why not be honest with your customers and admit a problem??????

So, my suggestion to all is, these smaller seed vendors don't move enough seeds so some of the seeds get old, go bad and YOU lose. Attitude, Herbies, Midweeksong, etc. sells 100,000's of seeds and move thru their inventory much quicker. I like the convenience of buying here in the U.S., but I think I'm done- I'm going to stick with the "big boys".......

I had similar issues with MWS and their cronies came out trying to say it was the breeders fault that I got old seeds, or it was my fault in the germination. I,like you, know an old seed when I get one. I didn't complain to MWS,probably should have.like i told them, if you get old GH nutes from a hydro store, that isn't gh's fault.

$130 for 12 feminized seeds is not really expensive, if the genetics are good. Since mine aren't done yet, I can't comment on quality yet. What DOES make them expensive is half of them won't sprout, which in turn they do become expensive at $130 for 6 beans. I'm figuring that's why they are giving 5+1 seeds with each purchase, as they are compensating for the poor rate.
