WW clones, Jock horrors, and blueberry, oh my!

Hello everyone!

This is my first attempt at a grow journal here on the site. A little backstory:

I was an avid grower for several years, until I was promoted to lab manager at my job (long hours and urine tests made it impossible to do what I love). All that changed a half a year ago when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I quit my job, and started making oil for her and the people in her cancer support group. Now I'm two weeks away from my first harvest, and this grow journal will document the start of my journey to make medicine cheaper for those that need it!

I'm starting with several WW clones from my current grow, 2 jock horrors, and a blueberry (all from nirvana) in a bubble bros dwc system from HTG and starting with a t5 florescent light from agrobrite.

http://www.htgsupply.com/products/bubble-brothers-6-pot-dwc-system

I'm using technoflora nutes for now (pretty cheap, and I've always had lovely results), but I'm looking at other alternatives if anyone has suggestions!

First pic is kinda shit, but this was something I decided to do at the last minute today.

Sorry for the mile long post, but I'm quite excited to get started

I'm attempting super cropping instead of topping this round (until I take clones of course), so that's why they're leaning in the pic. The horrors and the blueberry are getting really big really fast, so it may be time to get them under the 600w conversion light I have (wasn't expecting them to take off this much this fast).

If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please feel free to post! The bubble bros is my first real attempt at a pre made dwc system, so any experience is greatly appreciated!

Couple of pics to better show off the girls and the set up itself.

The large plant in the middle has a pretty gross looking fan leaf, but my thoughts are that it was sitting on the light before I had a chance to super crop again this morning (first time messing with this training method, didn't know the stems would bounce back so quickly). The girls are quite thirsty, I end up giving them about 3/4 of a gallon a day (3.5 gal buckets).

I also noticed a bit of nute burn on the clones, going to dial things back a bit on the next feeding (also a perfect time to change the res!)

New set of pics! Lots of super cropping going on. The jock horrors and the blueberry are just taking off like crazy. I'm actually going to see if my bucket lids will fit a 5gal bucket because the roots are just loving this system.

The WW clones are a little farther behind, and my raspberry cough clone is acting crazy. 3 bladed fan leaves, not much growth, etc.

Hello again! Back with an update after my vacation, so please don't mind any yellowed leaves!

Five of my six are looking amazing! Transplanted into 5 gal buckets, and under the 2 400w MH for a month of veg. There is a bit of yellowing, but my flight home was delayed. Fear not, the feeding schedule has resumed properly!

Before I switch to flower, I'm have my 1000w hps installed. I think I'll be keeping the 400w lights for veg instead of getting a conversion ballast - I'm attempting to move towards a perpetual garden, and I believe the 400s will be enough for veg.

Now to my RC clone ... It's ugly, shriveled, and I don't think I'll be keeping it based off of the mother plant's harvest performance. Until my other clones are good to go, however, I'm running an experiment. I have approximately 330 GPH of air pumping into the water currently ... We'll see if the extra oxygen helps any of its issues out.

Lots of growth in the last week!

Super cropping is definitely the method I'll be using from here on out! I did take a few clones off of the jock horrors in the back, but the lack of stress from constantly topping is really showing in overall growth - the wooden frame is 3x3, a week ago you could still see individual plants .. Now it looks like a single canopy :)

No pictures of the clones for now ... They are taking root well, but not my best work. I'll update with pics once they hit their veg cycle.

Another little update!

It seems my girls aren't shy, and it looks like their sex characteristics are starting to show :D

This is my first super cropping attempt, so maybe it's just new growth ... But it really looks like pistils forming. Let me know what you guys think!

Now I'm just waiting for the clones to take off and I'll install the 1000w and start flowering these five

100% look female pistols showing no sacks...are they regular seeds?... I only use feminised seeds now saves having to plant double to get the amount of plants i want...

I only use feminized seeds mate. There is a higher chance of them going hermie ... but I havent had that be an issue yet (outside of that one raspberry cough ... but i think there was just something really wrong genetically with that strain)

My biggest concern was the fact that the Jock Horrors and teh blueberry seeds were 9 years old lol

Pretty old seed mate all looks good though...female is the way to go I've had no hermie issues using them most strains are pretty stable these days...I had a NYC diesel hermie at 8 weeks I picked them off and ran it to 10 weeks lol...

Had the same issue with that raspberry cough from nirvana. I've exclusively bought from them for years, and that was the first set of issues I've ever had with their genetics

Another question I had for the forum:

How should I go about getting these plants used to the 1000w light? Even with 2 400w MH ... thats a pretty big output difference/heat difference even with proper venting . Should I add the light into the set up as is and slowly up the time that its on while the 400s are running, or should I just make the switch when I change light schedules.

Just want to keep the stress on the plants to a minimum!

So ... Here are my clones. They've all got some really nice roots .. But they look like shit lol

Not sure what's going on, but if they fail I have plenty of other sites to clone from

personally i would switch to the 1000w on the flip ewwstank...if your temps and humidity are ok with the light on then just do a str8 switch mate...should get some serious nugs with a 1000w light mate...im running a 600w hps and a 300w cfl in my tent:weed:

Another picture update!

It looks like my clones are starting to perk up in the set up, so time to get them on a starter feeding schedule.

The adults have really taken off the past few days. However, it seems that the WW clone in the front right of the picture is suffering from some root issues. I've cleaned out the res with a 10% bleach solution, and added some beneficial microbes as I believe it was an algae build up of some sort (roots were brownish, leaves have a number of brown dead spots on them). Hoping the treatment works and I don't lose that beauty.

Since I'm super cropping, I removed the 3x3ft screen, so I added a picture with my freakish ape hands for some idea of the size of them (I'm expanding the size of the grow to better utilize the 1000w light footprint, trying to take it out to at least a 5x5ft canopy).
