Kind is just decent quality generic ganja that hasn't been compressed and typically doesn't have any seeds. It is more likely domestic or imported from Canada (aka 'BC Bud'), but it often comes lacking the trichomes it had originally.
You have to understand where your schwag or brick weed comes from, and even much of what you might call 'mid-grade'. The people who grow the stuff don't particularly care about the quality of the product, it is all about money and as much as they can make, as should be obvious. This is why it is compressed, to facilitate the smuggling process, and it also makes the herb even shittier.
As a general rule, the more cannabis is handled the less potent it becomes until it finally reaches you, the end consumer. Even what you call Kind Bud is grown explicitly for commercial purposes, although that stuff more likely originates from a hydro-house some where in Canada, or perhaps Maine or even somewhere more local depending where you live. Whatever varieties being grown are heavy yielding strains, no doubt, but they are not always low potency. The problem is that the plants are harvested ASAP, dried in a hurry, not typically cured at all and then packaged. Sometimes the trichomes are partially removed. Often the buds are not even near being dry, but they are vacuum sealed by the pound or wrapped up in cellophane or whatever, then they move on down the ladder until they get to the guy who breaks the pound up and repacks into quarter pounds, or ounces... then somebody else breaks up the QP or the ounce and packages up the quarters, 8ths and grams that you and your friends buy.
