I'm watching the news this morning like I always do....so in Iqaluit, they're thinking about re-opening the liquor store. Now to me the word re-open implies there was perhaps a problem at one time that made the liquor store close it's doors (I think 49 people died).I don't think sales were the problem. But because the face of Iqaluit is changing, they think maybe a "beer and wine" store would be a more "convenient" way for folks to get their drink, than the laborious way it's done now. Is anyone going wtf?
4 years ago on the streets of the downtown eastside, a woman with cerebral palsy was pushed to the ground by a cop. She walked in between two cops and the one said he thought she was going for his gun! WTF? But it gets better. He got his pee pee slapped with two day suspension or something stupid like that so the civil liberties people jumped in. Now 4 years later, one of the higher ups is talking about how difficult this last 4 years has been for " this young cop who had just graduated and had no experience." WTF? So they send an inexperienced cop to the DTES for practice? WTF is wrong with this picture?
