WTF are these in my soil?

I’ve got a pretty bad fungus gnat issue, and picked up some BMC microbe lift. My organic amended soil is like candy for them and they got out of hand quick. I’ve been using the BMC for a few days, and dug around in my soil and just found this under the top dressing. I thought they were gnat eggs until I scoped them and saw that they were MOVING! Are these soil mites, or something more nefarious like root aphids? Ive seen soil mites on the rim of the pots before, and they looked less transparent and moved quicker. I use dry amendments, and start with dry peat, purchased worm castings, recycled soil, and don’t take in cuts/clones from others - I try to keep a closed circuit to avoid any contam

They look more like mites than aphids to me.

I was reading a thread few times around and was told that those are just soil mites from organic soil not supposed to be harmful.

Thanks dudes. Internet sites kept going back and forth claiming that they were both, while showing all sorts of different pictures. I was originally looking for fungus gnat larvae and couldn’t find any, but found these little guys instead.

I’ve seen those before, previously mistaken for nematodes, lol. I’m new to the micro-world, still trying to figure out all the creepy crawlies since switching over to Organics. There are a lot of em!

Yea thats what my hesitation to try Living soil with FFof and gnats and what you seem to be seeing.

FFOF is too expensive and I’m a total cheap ass. The goal is to figure out how to grow without any proprietary stuff, so that I’m never screwed if I can’t find a certain ingredient. I wanna learn to be flexible and grow with whatever local resources are available. It’s been quite a journey, but my last run was probably my tastiest and smoothest smoke in a decade. It took some effort and a lot of homework, but it was probably also one of my cheapest runs too.

They look like soil mites. They're beneficial.

If you're inclined to share something cheap I'll be all ears I don't want to go ff but figured has what in need for 1 in five gallon pot. I don't want to feed every watering just top dress with something every few weeks and and bottle of seaweed feed every couple weeks. Need the initial pro mix HP then can add things to get a few runs money Wise. In ground compost and light in soil throw in ground still fertilizing with the trio's or others. Inside trying to find something easier.

It’s more work up front, but over time it’s easier and cheaper per run. I make tubs of fortified soil and try to get by with mostly plain water. This is where all the work comes in - mixing and tubbing soil. I bought up a bunch of amendments in bulk and got free shipping. I paid like $1-2 per pound for most of em: Kelp, neem, Karanja, alfalfa, rock dust, crab shell meal, oyster shell meal, and bat guano. I use some mycos for transplanting, and they get some occasional coconut, and aloe powder too.

And have we met the Pseudo Scorpions?
