Takes a lot of chaff to yield a bushel of good wheat.

This is no use telling him that an 18w fluro will grow dope, it wont so those people jumping on him are helping him avoid a grow that produces nothing and holds the same LE risks.

its not that grows cant be done cheaply, they certaintly can. its that if your going to go broke trying to get your setup started you probably should try and save up or wait until your finances are more secure. people have just been pointing otu that its more expensive then it appears at first and that if you cant afford to invest in it you wont get results.

KISS, and you are. Keep going! A grower after my own heart. My grow room looks like it was cobbled from a hoarder's stash. I love CFL for vegging. The trick is to use enough.

I got a girl going now just for shits and giggles to see how she finishes. Only gonna use 2 300w equiv bulbs. The cab she is in is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 5. It's just something i threw together from old junk and left over parts. I even took an old coleman cooler removed lid, cut a hole in plywood to stick plant in..
She loves it so far, just now starting to go into her stretch.

Take the time to make acquaintance with old school growers , those who had no choice but to use anything and everything available .. I remember the days when there were no Hydro shops in our state .. About " 1991" I got to go in one for the first time and I was not that really impressed then .. Now I am like a kid in the candy store due to the market growth and ability to buy what I want ..

If I did have to go back to growing on a low budget , I would not hesitate at all while doing it .. I would scavenge thrift shops , bargain stores , Industrial supply stores along with Salvage Centers .. Used to score the low bay HID's at these places .. Bulbs I got at Home Depot .. As well you would be amazed at what can be bought for growing at dollar stores , supermarkets and the likes once you know what to look for .
