Smokey: Ive used T-8s for years and had no problems but I'd try to get tubes in the 5,000 to 6,000K range for vegging and use 2700K's for flowering. But if you're going to use that you might want to look at a rack of T-5's. I hope that helps. HSA

if u werre to add some CFL side lighting say couple of 26 watters on the side which are cheap at homedepot or walmart you'll be fine but ya aim for 5000-6000 kevlin for veg gives the plant more of the blue spectrum which it needs for veg those are fine just get daylight CFLs GOOD LUCK BRO :joint::weed:

so what is all this talk about T5s? I am using CFLs now on 1 plant. I just wanted to try a new kind of light on my next grow. So it seems everyone is saying the CFLs are still better than that light that I asked about.

smokey, if your going to get that light you should use it with the cfls you aready have. put the t5 on top and the cfls around the sides.

ok thank you. I know HID and hps lights are the way to go. I am just trying to keep things simple. Thats why I am using CFLs now but just wanted to try something else next time, but still keep it simple.
