Would this be a total joke?

Could you build something similar for cheaper? Or are you saying spend a little more and you will build something better?

Sounds good to me, you could probally knock 5-10 bucks off by doing it all on your own but then you have to go around and find all the various parts and put it all together. its still a pretty good price for it imo.

I mean I wouldn't expect to use it forever, but just while I'm experimenting... and also, the closest hydro store to me is 150 miles.

It's not bad, but size wise, it's very small, it all depends on what level you're experimenting really.
Back when I was a total noob, my plants were bigger than this system could hande, and having more experience now, but still no expert, my lowryder 2's have exceeded the average size, when they grow upwards & outwards, you might well be left wishing you had gone for something a little bigger.

It's a good cloner if you are only doing eight plants...not a bad price (I probably couldn't build it in Canada for that price...but it would be close). This would last you at least 3 weeks from cloning then to a bigger unit for veg, then a bigger yet for flower (think Stinkbud Jr.)...

couldnt have said it better myself, thanks guys

and i came here expecting a joke.....
If you have not already bought anything. May I suggest looking up some 360 micro sprayer systems, I used it on my last grow and got awesome results, you literally cut weeks on the flowering period. I am currently running a fogger system I made in the Grow Journal forum. If you would like to know how to build that I can help as well. ( NOT Recommended for a first grow) Its a touchy system but the water is under 20 microbes and the nutrients as well so i.e when it hits the roots instant absorption of air, water, nutes super feed :fire:

The 360 sprayer system can be made for cheap

20$ submersible pump
30gal tote or smaller w/e
net cups cheap
pvc pipes cheap
360 sprayers 75 cents a piece
drill and all that you can make a pretty nice systems without burning a hole in your pocket.

DWC is even cheaper all you need is a reservoir air stone and pump i believe never ran one. But there are plenty of threads.

i think building your stuff is where its at this is the 1 hobby that 4 the most part gives back what u put into it & then some where else can such fun be had 4 so little investment i say go 4 it

2 grows ago i did a bubbleponic [diy] grow i studied rosemans thread & not understanding nutes at all ordered nutes from stealth hydro they worked i guess but to dial this stuff in you need or at least have access to a ph meter & a tds meter [to at least know where your water stands] these are not an absolute must but without them youre kind of in the dark
