would this aeroponic system work?

could a store bought humidifier be used aeroponically in a tub to supply water to the roots? it would be so cheap and simple if it worked. i was thinking you could find a humidifier, the kind that blows cool humid air and has a down spout into a reservoir. then you could cut holes in the holding tank of the humidifier, to allow continuous water circulation. below is the type of humidifier i think would work best. two or more could even be employed. so what does everyone think?


-i know nothing about aeroponics or growing in general. have really been on this site just for a week or so. but so far its been fun reading.

I know my humidifier leaves a mineral deposit/residue on the inside, seems like only the water goes into the air, not whats in the water. So nutes would be a problem, there are commercial Ultrasonic fogger units, but they cost a fortune and i haven't heard good things. Great for cacti apparently. Good luck

maybe it would be better used for cloning to establish new roots easily...
