Working with limited space, question concerning container size

If one has a grow box (soil) only 3' tall and is going to start out with autoflowers and wants to switch to photoperiod fem later on, is using a 2-3 gal grow container prohibiting much else other than yield? Is a plant better suited in a 3-5 gal container going to perform well in a 2 gallon container and simply yield less, or will the plant suffer?

It depends on how picky your strain is. Some hate being root bound. Others dont mind as much. But none like it

Id recommend some air pots because they limit root circling and are pretty nice.

Check em out: http://www.superoots.com/air_intro.htm

You can find em on ebay for 20-30 dollars for a 10 pack depending on size.

They allow adequate drainage and are a good price for the benefits you get.

What strain are you planning?

Set up a scrog then and wind them around the screen. Its a great way to keep plants low and maximize yield.
