Here we go again... because one cop does something bad, now all of them shall burn in hell. What do they say? We all hate them til' we need them...

How about the idiot in the drivers seat (her son) that actually stopped for the police... call dispatch and tell them the emergency, the cop could take me to jail AFTER I got my mom to the hospital.

And all the cops that we hear about are just 1 cop......
it adds up man. There's corruption and there's good cops.

I think it is the law that forces some of them to do things we do not like.
And there are many who are on a permanent power trip.

I wouldn't mind making a few of those asshole cops feel as powerless as they make people feel on a DAILY basis

It comes with being an officer I think, a prime example is what just happened in Oakland... walk up to a car on a normal traffic stop and get executed just for being a cop or because that person doesn't value human life or has issues and doesn't want to goto prison. When you become an officer, in these hostile times, you really have to separate yourself from civilians because of how easily your life could be taken away just for doing your job. So, if I'm an officer and I get a bad vibe from you... damn right I'll do my hardest to make you feel like an ant compared to me, just so you don't get the slightest idea to do something stupid. I've never had a cop make me feel powerless, even after 8+ tickets they're still as courteous as could be with me.

I really don't want to have the same conversation I had on that other thread you were referring to.

You may have had good experiences with cops but even after exiting adolescence and growing up I STILL see them being asshole's to anyone in their path.
They abuse their power and live their everyday lives feeling like they are gods among men.
I understand the whole command presence stuff but I have seen cops unnecessarily take it too far too many times(most of these times I was not involved).

I cannot speak for you. nor can you speak for me.

Different experiences create different attitudes

i dunno if i agree with this part. i know with me and everyone i know respect goes a long way.

i think if someone is going to shoot a cop they will more liekly do it if youre a dick i can see someone saying "oh that cop was real nice he calmed me down by being a cool guy" rather than "oh that cop was a real dick. i was going to shoot him if he didnt have the upper hand in that situation"

either way though i think the first is more liekly

I don't think an 83 y/o and her son really pose a threat to a officer. If my grandma or Mom was dying I would jump in the car and take em to the emergency as well. I would have let that officer chase me for a good mile than let my grandma or mom die for a lousy speeding ticket. I wonder if they'll still make that kid pay for the speeding ticket or maybe the death of his Mom was enough. If the cop was doing his job, he would have called for an ambulance immediately instead of sitting there writing out a 20 minute long ticket, while an elderly women dies. Their job is to help people, not write tickets for somebody else who is trying to help somebody; what a lousy world we live in.....respect your elders not the power-tripped cops.

I bet that kid will feel guilty for letting that pig pull him over, thinking the ocp would be cool about it and then ended up having his mom die. I feel bad for that kid, he lost 130 bucks and his mom to a pig writing a ticket what a shitty story to tell. That cop should take a look at his life and maybe he'll realize what a douchebag is......prob not becuz he thinks he's doing the right thing at all times. I'd like to tell you that you did the wrong thing and you lost a life, maybe you should go to prison and lose your life the right way.

Was the cop blind or something? Could he not see the woman in the car needing to go to the hospital? He's standing there writing a ticket while she's dying and he didn't notice?

Usually if there is a reason you are speeding and they see it for themselves they let you go and then call the hospital and tell them you are coming.

Not if they want to meet their quota and go home to eat some donuts.....
Its the "I'm more important than you" mentality going on with cops that pisses me off.

I've seen so many cops bust illegal moves while driving for no reason.
Dude cut me off one time and then he flipped his lights on and sped up like he was in a hurry. I caught up to him waiting at a red light and I just pulled up next to him(I wasn't going to get pissed cuz it was a cop)
When he looked over and saw me he flipped his lights on and blew the red light, then turned them off as soon as he was on the other side and continued to drive at a normal speed.........

Sounds like dude wanted to find an excuse for driving like an asshole and cutting me off
