It's not just the fact she was a 'celebrity' by whatever feeble definition people use these days. She was an incredible talent and had a huge influence on the music industry whether or not you like her. She's not 'above' or 'below' anyone because of her 'celebrity status' but it's a shock all the same.

I am making a FF 10, Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2 and FF8 AMV tribute to this song right now... It was meant to be played for the first dance of my parent's wedding. My mother still cries when she hears it and remembers the tape was forgotten on the day. Well, it's done now.

Can't really say i'm bothered tbh. "megastars" (i say that in irony, i can't name a single song of hers) seem to have this habbit of abusing the crap out of themselves yet they get prefernetial news treatment.
