Ok so here's teh deal..

Ive got a mogul socket with pigtails which i am using to power my 200w enviro..

there are two wires coming from the socket (black & white). I have an extention cord that has 3 wires (black, white, & green)

please help.. I cant afford to break any pieces in the process.

also the extension cord wires are copper and the light is silver. this is probably not right.

If you see a green screw that looks lonely on the box that the mogul socket is attached or will be attached to.

does this look like a lonely screw to you?

and is it a problem that i'll be attatching the copper wires to silver ones?

The lonesome screw is the ground to the metal box casing.

Your envirolite should run just fine without the grounding screw - since it is a low-power device that doesn't put a heavy inductive load on the power circuit it only needs the hot and neutral wires to operate safely.
