Someone called your house and said they were "Windows 8"?
Maybe it was a prank.. do you download/upload software or other copy righten material? i.e. torrent

Maybe they got ahold of some of your RIU content.
I just tried looking at your like in your signature field and there weren't any photos

did you ever post pictures? If you live in a state where cannabis is still illegal I might be concerned disclosing info on the internet!

Its a well known internet scam, look it up, basically they say they have found malware or spyware or some shit on your PC from using a particular site etc and then offer to "fix" it for you and restore your PC back to factory settings if you type certain script commands in to "allow them access to fix the problem"

What actually happens is they get all your financial details off the pc n install a keylogger so they can see everything you do from this point onwards and will give them passwords to your accounts etc as you type them into the PC they can see the same stuff on THEIR screen.

Run a virus and spyware/malware scan on your PC immediately

They specifically mentioned RIU? If so, that's a bit disconcerting. Still, the gubmint wouldn't do things that way. They kick down your door, shoot your dog and hold you under their boot with a weapon pressed into your skull. And that's the high point, gets worse after that.
So, it ain't them. A scammer is much easier to deal with. Much more fun too.

it's probably the same mofos who put viruses on the old rui . They probably had some sort of tracking to know you got it and where you got it , ie here.

Put it this way, all microsoft do and care about is selling computers. If anyone was gonna call you out on your internet activity, it would be your isp.
