Hey there roll it up... My 2nd real grow on a budget. 6 plants. 3 budding 2 others female and one not flipping. Most of them in fabric pots. Using Root Farm Nutes. My reason for the experiment window grow was my box was filled and no room to expand. What are the chances 6 seeds and 5 are female and not sure about the 6th. So 2 nights ago i began shutting window blinds at night and pow 2 of them showed pistils. They get 6 hrs of direct light rest is inderect. South side of house. Any thoughts. Either way im letting them go because its like having a garden in your house. The first picture is the window grow the others in pots are in my tent. Thanks a ton for helping me get these girls to the point they are.

Hey LOSO,

Your plants are looking pretty good! Are the pistols multiplying/compounding? 2 days for pistols to show sounds a little short, are you’re sure they are not singular (preflower) pistols? These pistols will show on a female plant that is mature regardless if she’s flowering or not.

As for window flowering, around 12 hours of darkness is required to properly flower. It happens perfectly in fall in my south facing window corner! I’m running a window plant as we speak, and going to start covering in in two weeks so she can flower under late summer sun.

Congrats, you’re officially using the sun to grow indoors!

You are correct, there is a big difference in my window plant ant the plant thats been in the tent on flower. The ones in the tent every bud spot has hairs pouring out. The window grow is just the 2 preflower pistils. I will say its so easy with the tent to just have the timer. Instead of daily creating darkness in a room that needs rather direct sunlight throughout the rest of the day.

It’s important to know when sunup and sundown are for your area, and how the hours of darkness decrease in spring and increase in fall. It takes some skill, patience and technique to force your plants if you don’t wait for fall.

It has its benefits!

Definetly ive been puttinh a full sunblocking sheet and good fan circulation at night. The bad thing is, I have 2 young children. So my free time gaps to go put into darkness is slim. I took 2 clones for the girst time off of them yesterday with them showing signs. Will i have to revert to veg after rooting. I havent done to much reading on it yet.
