Hi I have a 11'-12' sealed room with 3 600 watt air cooled lights. I'm going to grab a window unit. How many btu's? I'm thinking either 8000 or 10000. Temps outside shouldn't get higher than low 90s as I flower at night. Thx for input

Sealed room so lights are not air cooled?

I found the 6000btu per 1000w of non air cooled lights equation to work fine. So... i would say 1000btu minimum....

By air cooled I assume you mean the air is ducted into the hood from outside, then out of the room. I ran a 1,000w system like that and it barely raised the temp in the basement. I didn't have AC at all in it and it was fine.

Yes indeed Pimpin, outside air is ducted through the hoods and pushed out of the room. Temps would be in the high 90s in the room without an air conditioner during summer night cycles. I'm looking at window units. Anyone have a btu size for this specific setup or light proof models to suggest? thx

running 3 600 watts open hoods . I would use the 10000 your temps are toasty out side. if they were cool tubed I get a 5000 it may be ok .

Go on how the plant's look too many growers have got it into there head that if it's a few dg's too hot or showing hot on temp gage all's lost,if the plants look happy ,then don't worry,i have grown at 100 dg's one hot summer and the plant's still did just has well,i think you can get plant's used to heat,if there brought up,in a room that is fairly warm, the vegging room i have with one t5 in there 6 tube large one is hotter than my flowering room where i run 2 x 600 hps cool hood lights, and a 3rd 600 hps light has a swinger from week 4 on wards in flower.I no longer use a gage of any sort, well i do a couple of times through a grow but never for heat more for humidity,i need to know the humidity, has long has the plants look good then there fine, but if humidity is high during flowering then i need to address that issue
