Will you ever quit the herb?

Will I ever quit? Maybe. Who knows. If a Doctor confirms that marijuana is harming me, then I would quit. Hell, I might even quit for a girl. I'm no spring chicken. If I met somebody that I knew was my soulmate, but my smoking interfered with that, I would quit.
whattt? come on dude whats up w/that..."soulmate"?
lemme tell you something man, no one has a soul mate, theres 6 billion people on this planet, no one person has one soulmate, and if your supposed "soulmate" doesnt want you toking, what kinda soulmate is that? lol

Winstonoboogie,

My father passed from Pulmonary Fibrosis, and he never smoked anything. They do not know what causes it, and smoking anything has not been confirmed to be a contributing factor:

What damages the lungs?
Hundreds of factors can cause the lung damage that eventually leads to pulmonary fibrosis. Some of the most common include:
  • Occupational and environmental factors. Long-term exposure to a number of toxins and pollutants can damage your lungs. Among them are silica dust (silicosis) and asbestos fibers (asbestosis). Chronic exposure to some organic substances, including grain dust, sugar cane, and bird and animal droppings, also can cause fibrosis.
  • Radiation. A small percentage of people who receive radiation therapy for lung or breast cancer show signs of lung damage months or sometimes years after the initial treatment. The severity of the damage depends on how much of the lung is exposed to radiation, the total amount of radiation administered, whether chemotherapy also is used and the presence of underlying lung disease.
  • Medications. Many drugs can damage your lungs, especially chemotherapy drugs (methotrexate, cyclophosphamide); medications used to treat heart arrhythmias and other cardiovascular problems (amiodarone, propranolol); certain psychiatric medications; and some antibiotics (nitrofurantoin, sulfasalazine).
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Acid reflux, which occurs when stomach acids back up into your food pipe (esophagus), appears to play a significant role in pulmonary fibrosis. Although people with pulmonary fibrosis frequently have GERD, they may not have typical GERD symptoms, such as heartburn and belching.
  • Other medical conditions. Serious lung infections such as tuberculosis and pneumonia can cause permanent lung damage. So can disorders that affect tissue throughout your body, not just your lungs, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatomyositis, polymyositis, Sjogren's syndrome and sarcoidosis. In rare cases, scleroderma is associated with a particularly severe form of pulmonary fibrosis.
AngelsBandit,
I appreciate your reply, first my condolences on your father's passing; if I may ask, how old was your father when he died? Did he get it from any of those contributing factors that you mentioned?? I gone over and over thru my mind and I haven't been exposed to any of those other things you mentioned. I guess I'm feeling kinda guilty for smokin so much thru the years. I just figure that when I smoked I would hold it in my lungs for a longer period than say a cigarette smoker and being that there is no filter the smoke was probably harsher and the US government has been spraying paraquat thru the fields of Columbia , Mexico & Jamaica for years before indoor hydrponics became popular and accesible, I'm sure that may have contributed to the condition. Anything else you can share about it and what I & my family have to look forward to, I would appreciate you very much.

My dad has smoked his whole life. My mom recently quit. Both of my sisters and brother in laws smoke. I'm going to be opening my own business soon.

We're a very successful family and we all smoke which is why I detest people who make assumptions based out of ignorance when it comes to Marijuana.

I can very easily 'quit' for like a month at a time or longer to lower my tolerance. You can stop completely and after a week any withdrawals symptoms(always mild) are completely gone.

Compare that with Nicotine and Alcohol withdrawal...

there's no way I'll ever quit smoking. I've been toking up for the past 2 years and I have my legal prescription for it.

I've done research on effects of it and I have found nothing but good effects.

it is constantly improving my life so I will constantly improve my growing techniques and continue to live my life while growing it. and I will be happy :).

i said i'd quit if smoking weed stopped being fun for me, but that hasn't happened yet so I'm gonna keep blazing. Oh and I'd stop if I got pregnant, but i think that's a given.

I didn't smoke back when I was a heavy equipment operator. Me stoned on a 50 ton machine that can run over a car like a speed bump seemed like a bad idea to me. If i ever go back into that line of work I would quit toking. Too much potential to hurt someone from being impared even to the slightest degree. . This devil weed aint no monkey on MY back!

life isnt all about herbs people.... if weed is all you do then you must have a pritty unfulfilling life :(. however herbs have inspired me to play a lot of guitar, buy a dj turntable for scratching (i thought it would be a fun thing to take up hah) and excersise. just let it enhance your talents instead of your life revolving around the shit. oh plus, iv achieved enlightenment from though blessed herb.:-P:leaf:

enlightenment is a subjective thing. I don't think you have any right to be asking someone else how.

everyone has their own path.

I respect your opinion, and hope that you weren't making light of mine. It depends on what your definition of "soulmate" is, and how high a priority you place on being able to smoke pot. For you, it means something different, and one which must involve smoking pot. For you, smoking pot is a deal breaker. If you can't grow and smoke as much as you like, then that person cannot be your soulmate. That's your definition.

Not so with me. All of us presumably have certain things that we want in a companion. Relationships require work and sacrifice. If I meet someone that contained the qualities I desire, and she cares for me despite all my faults and baggage - but she couldn't be with a pot smoker, I would easily sacrifice pot smoking. I guess pot isn't as much as a priority for me as it is for you.

To each their own, this isn't a "right" or "wrong" approach, but rather a personal preference. For me, I would not let pot get in the way of my happiness. I can be perfectly happy with the love of a good woman without smoking pot. Then again, that's just me. By the way, it also provides me with a greater pool of women to be with. Those that smoke, and those that don't. I like both. :hump:

I will quit smoking as soon as I get my vaporizer, I love getting baked and from what I have read smoking is the only harmful thing about using weed.

I agree with that. I knew a girl once who I'd have probably quit breathing for if she'd asked me nicely. Too bad I couldn't talk her into me. She was that one in 6 billion.
