Will underwatering mimic high PPM and cause leaf cupping?

My plants seem to be having problems indicative of either over fert or over heating. Since temps have never been above 83 .. and we have only fertilized once (with 1/3 strength age old organic "age old grow" fertilizer) in the 10 weeks or so of the plants life, i can rule out both of these causes.

The plants have been having basically perfect temp and humidity (rh fluctuates decently but temps are always steady around 78 day 63 night), have been cared for well, and are getting enough light. Also they have been recently transplanted into fresh ocean forest in bigger pots to supply nitrogen as they do their final burst of growth before flowering.

Here is the journal link..

I am experiencing cupped leaves. Im thinking it could be an overfert "mimic" situation due to the fact that up until last week, (week 9 or so) we had never watered enough for water to come out the bottom. Only enough to just barely get the container moist. I'm thinking there may be some kind of salt buildup??

The Ph of our tap water up until now, which we've been watering with is 7.5. Like i said we probably havent been watering enough.

Today i tested the ph from the runoff for the first time .. it was 5.8 on the plant with the worst yellowing on its leaves. It was around 6.5 or so on the plant with the cupped leaves.

What can i do? It looks like a Mg deficiency on that one .. but im guessing it's due to nutrient lockout. The cupped leaves on the other hand are a mystery

Can anyone please help?

I have a 5 gallon bucket of PH'D water sitting at 6.5 ready to add, which from now on i'm going to add at ph 6.5 instead of tap (7.5).

So i am underwatering??

I was just thinking it may be overwatering. ..

Right now we're doing about 20oz per plant every 3-4 days .. in those 5 gallon pots
next watering, water from the bottom, let the plant soak up water till it stop's,should help dry pocket's,from underwatering
