ok so i have spidermites and im spraying the soil with water/alcohol and a few drops of laundry detergent.

will this hurt my plants?
because im spraying it on the top of the soil but when i water the plant will the water take the chemicals i sprayed on the soil to the roots?

and is it bad if my leaves get wet by the water

get some "Safer" brand insecticidal soap or neem oil. Spider mites are often an indication of other environmental problems such as too high of heat or too low of humidity.
