G/e fluorescent tubes, 2x 40w , 4100k, each throw out about 2100 lumens. Anyone's info would be appreciated

You're gonna need more lumens than that, at least 5000 or more. ( knowmad: 5000K? doesn't that mean 5000 thousands? don't you mean 5K?)

he was talking about the kind of light. light near the 6500k part of the spectrum works best for vegging (promoting leaf growth/etc..)

These lights are good for,low electricity usage and heat emitting,i use them for vegatation, i use a 250wt powerplant cfl lampbox, but it has no heat watsoever, somfor flowering i use a 400wt hps lamp, and i have great results everytime seems fine, tho if you wanna use cfl all round then u will need to get a red or,orange glowing bulb for flowering

Ok for the bathroom but they wont have the energy to veg plants and produce anything. Get a small HPS for veg and flowering, 250w for eg.

Just realized that, thanks for reminding me OOPS! I guess at my age you tend to be a bit slow, or it's the MJ, he he.

So....it was not worth adding on to my existing light setup, about 160w of red spectrum cfl bulbs?
