Ok while preparing for my first grow i have decided to go with a stealth box. I will be using an old dresser that my mom and i hollowed out, sealed tight, added intake and out take fans, and lined with mylar. It is 5 feet tall 2 feet deep and 4 feet wide. Now lights i brought regular light boxes to house 2 800 lumens cfl's but while i was there i saw this LED strip light (pic and info below) can i use this as my top light and the cfl's on the side ? I will have 2 plants Alien X Triangle Auto's each in there own 5 gallon bucket using soil as my grow medium.

I use a similarly shaped room (22"x6'x5.5') and use 800 watts of high pressure sodium. I would recommend using different pots because of how tall your average five gallon bucket is. your headroom is going to be limited.

I only flower in this space so I neverhave to cchange lights but for veg you could get away with flourescent lighting (t8, t5, or cfl) but when you flower your going to want some pretty intense light.

Shoot for 7000-7500 lumens per square foot. That's best case.

You need a minimum of 360 watts to get a healthy growth. I would mount 4' tubes vertically inside the compartment. Two dual 4' tube fixtures will give you an actual 160 watt equivalant. So...two fixtures on each side is 320 watts. With these types of flouresent tubes heat problems are at a minimum and the plant(s) will not get burned if they come in contact with the light. Slightly more expensive than other light sources but could be what's nessecary. Used 4' tube fixtures can be purchased cheaply.

Thank you. Yes heat is my first issue, even with the one intake and two exhaust that i installed in the cab. next was the energy consumption of the T8 or cfl compared to the led's. gonna do my homework alittle more but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Minimal lumens for one plant is aimed around 3300 lumens for small personal grows. But in your closet you could use 8 100cfl from home depot. Unless you decide to step up your game and get an hid light

I ran a 8 bulb ho t5 light with t5 ho strips on the sides and flowered using this. I got close to 2 oz per plant i n a similar sized area. Its all about the right bulbs and intensity t5 ho with a good reflector, short plants or scrog can produce some good flowers.
