i have watched demonstrations on the streets with thousands of people rallying to get it legalized, i have seen documentrys that promote it with celebritys backing the legalization and heard many podcasts and radio shows that try to encourage people to join the fight.
the trouble is all of the above were in america , nothing like that happens over here on any sort of scale and unless the awareness is raised in the uk by these sort of events and people like jamie oliver (always stoned) on the case doing a documentry lol.

there is a list of petitions in the uk and when i looked i saw that they have been signed by less people than i could have round my house.

Not gonna happin here, look at what happened to professor david nutt the government advisor. They got rid of him over what he was saying about cannabis and that it was less harmful than fags n booze, them in power didnt agree so he got the boot. As long as the tories or those labour twats run the country i dont think we stand a fuckin chance, the government here have their heads up their arse's.

There have been some but what ever it is your seeing may have been inflated. What ever it is your seeing its more than I've seen and I live here. Have you also seen the Federal raids on homes and businesses? There is a movement for it but is not making a lot of noise. The legalization we do have is more like a drop in the bucket. To gain legalization here will be a very long process. Most people who want it won't live long enough to see it happen. The Federal Government is totally against it. Real legalization will not happen until the feds come up with a way control it so that it is much more profitable than it is now. Any law is for sale if the price people are willing to pay is high enough.
