Will my set up for my clone work?

my clone just got roots and ive been using a hydroponic method i guess, with a bucket of water and an air pump to the end of the stem. now today i put it through a piece of sponge as its medium... and i was wondering if i keep it with the roots getting water and air it should be alright? rite?
