Will lots of ice cool my room enough?

On Tuesday there is a planned power cut... nothing i can do. My plants are going to be 4 days away from harvesting.

I have found a 3500 w generator for rent, so that takes care of having a light running on low, a dehum if needed and some fans. However My ac unit is mainlined into my mains, so i'm not knowledgable enough to be able to connect that.

So I'm wondering if it's worth sticking tens of kilos of bags of ice in the room for the 5 hours or so the electric is off? The room will easy hit 29c on a hot day, and as its the last week, I'm trying to keep it around 21c.
You say your 4 days away from harvest my suggestion would be to vent out the hot air turnn off lights for a day or 2 . Turning the lights off a day or 2 before makes the turps come out more for better bud. Deleaf lightly and harvest . Dealing with heat in the room and not being able to distribute the cool air efficiently will have you with hot spots around the room .

I've had bulbs blow and been without any light for a day or two in flower and the plants never missed a beat. I wouldn't turn the lights on at all the day of the outage and instead focus on keeping up the airflow and maintaining as good of an environment as possible
this is the answer right here .

like Curious said your plants have more then 4 days left, I’m sorry but the plants don’t care about your schedule. It takes weeks for plants to ripen not days.

they don’t need any light the day of the outage. That will lower your heat load on the room and should allow your ventilation to handle things like it’s supposed to. A day of darkness is no different than a cloudy rainy day outside. The plants won’t know any different.

Just to follow up... My power was out from 10-3 only, I hired a generator and kept things going, but didn't have my ac. I managed to keep the room temp fairly ok (slowly crept up to 27 until my power came back). I just kept putting ice bags in front of a fan, and i had a swamp cooler. This was however raising the humidity and my de-humidifier created heat... but anyway, was alright! Very little interuption.

You can always buy one of those portable power supplies I forget name they are orange and hook up some fans
