Will cropping a plant in segments increase yeilds?

Hi guys. Thank you for taking time to read my thread.

If I were to grow my plants a bit too tall for optimum results, (larfy near the bottom) but only harvest the top 1/3, then lower the lights and continue to let the underdeveloped part mature and harvest that 1/3rd when its ready, move the lights down, etc. etc. you see where I'm going.

will the plant give you much better yields or will it over-mature and turn in to mostly CBN by the time I get to the bottom?

I'm going to guess that its best just to grow the plant the correct height and crop it all for best results, but I'm interested in what more experienced growers may say.

Also I am Mainlining my plants, not sure if that will be significant in this discussion.

Grow an even canopy as much as possible. You will guaranteed have lower growth, but harvest it like grapes. They make three passes when harvesting grapes, you should do the same with your buds. I'd leave the light where it is, let them finish, and chop when ready. They don't want the light lowered, you're going to stress it when you want to keep it happy and producing buds like it was before things were changed
Keep it simple, stay out of its way, and reap the rewards

If you want to increase yields, look in to training your plant and buying a light mover. And co2 but that's complicated. Those are the only guaranteed ways to increase yield.

Yeah I figured it was a silly idea, ill stick with the original plan and just grow them to the correct height. Except I will harvest as you suggest, cropping the top and work my way down as the flower matures to the right milky/amber trichome ratio.
