Reciepts and Tickets have popped up showing the crazy taxing of MJ in Colorado. Although at around $400 an ounce. Its about the same price here in TX, on the streets. This is sure to plummet the price of still buying it "on the streets" or from growers, would could only assume?

Only a handful of stores were able to open Jan 1st, tourists were flocking in, so they were price gouging. 150+ more stores will be opening, flood of weed on the market should drive prices down over the next couple months.

The tax rate for recreational is 30% here in CO. Not sure if prices will necessarily go down that fast, but god damn I sure hope so. Average price for an 8th right now is around 64 bucks (tax already included of course).

Legal or not, markets are markets and prices will be affected similarly. Prices going up in one market won't cause it to go down in the same "black market". Its all about supply and demand; the more legal it becomes the more "steady " (or openly known about) the supply is; demand was just high as balls that day, it being the first.

But as twostrokenut stated-- the flood will drive down costs. Actually, production drives down costs and I'm sure they were ready for that day and had crazy supply, them charging that much was just taking advantage of the flood. But prices will definitely start to drop lower than ever before.

Move to Virginia, a pound of top grade still goes for 6 grand ;)

Demand drove the price up but I saw on the news they raised it even higher because they go through two pounds a day. They raised in hopes to slow demand.
