Will christmas lights affect anything?

I'm not trying to use Christmas lights as an actual source of light, but I'm out of short extension cords and I just happen to have a small string of Christmas lights that will work to plug in another real light.

I'm assuming it will be fine but the Christmas lights being on won't have a negative effect will it?

Check out my grow and see what you think so far and see if you can help with my other questions!

You can get an extension cord for around a buck at most stores. And a plug-in socket for about $2. Makes the socket on a cord($6) seem like a total waste of money(100% mark-up).

Christmas lights are run in series. Take the bulbs out and it should work.
Don't get water in the sockets obviously.

Use it if you must but for no more then a day. Grows fails because of all the half ass set ups & corner cutting. Trust me go buy an extension cord & whatever else you might need. It pays off.

turns out the lights are fried anyways so I was able to just use it as an extension cord. Click the link in my sig. to see how my grow room looks now!
