wierd seedling

just like yesterday a bagseed seedling popped for me.
the thing is, it has three cotyledons.
does this mean it was a deformed seed ir that it is one of those tripods(cant remember the proper name) where at each node there is three petioles?
thanks.

def get a pic up if you can. if this happened to me i would be pretty excited. it could be a mutant or just a fluke. way too early to tell with or without a pic. grow it out and see what happens. some mutations are very desirable.

yeah see im on a shitty android laptop but ill try as hard as i can to get a pic.
im not sure if its a desirable mutation so far because that seed took about 10 days to germ, since it did its been ridiculously slow, and its first true leaves are a bit twisted and tiny (and theres only two of them:(

ive grown this strain before and the last one was a hybrid of somesort, perhaps more sativa due to the bud structure, and even though i had really shitty grow conditions, was surprisingly potent.
but i didnt have any problems with it as a seedling.

thinking about it now, the fact that for the first true node, there are just two leaves, maybe the seedstock was messed up? but the genetics as such arent effected?

I have had plants over the yrs that had 3 sets of leaves, but they always verted back to 2 leaves when the plant was older. They ended up being males too.

Looks like dat isn't even a weed seed, i never heard about that..
haha watcha mean "looks like"?
i havent put a pic up yet:D

well anyway its definately a weed seed i think id know the difference:P
its just one of the cotyledons has sort of formed into two.
i really dont know if its anything special, i dont think it is, but im just curious as to how it'll turn out.

the fact that they turned out male has nothing to do with it.
males dont exibhit a trait of having three sets of leaves per node and (although im not entirely informed on them) plants with three sets of leaves per node shouldnt have a trait of being male

Well I wish I still had pics to prove it, but you can think what you want! I just thought I would share, and apparently males DO exibhit traits with 3 sets of leaves All I know is the plants that had 3 sets ALWAYS turned male...srry for sharing "FACTS"! Another thing, they never had 3 sets of leaves on the side shoots....just on the main stalk. Im sure that isnt possible either huh?

dude you have no idea :D
im trying more to convince MYSELF rather than you :D
i didnt know that you were saying that EVERY one you had turned male, but that you had only one seed deformed like this and it happened to be male.
and im just hoping my ass off that i dont get a male :(

right well i just can tfind my camera lead :(
but it dosent matter, although it has been growing really slowly the first real sets of leaves can be seen without the need af a fucking microscope. :D
but... alass.... there are only two :(
even if it did have a higher chance of being male, i was still excited... :(
the cotyledons werent 60 degrees apart you see, i think one of them had merely disformed into two...
on the upper hand though, it might make me a suitable mother!:D ("it"reffering to the fact thats its female, not the plant itself as this would imply that I was female... you know what i mean..)

2010 high times growers guide cervantes has a seedling article, in it he says "this sickly tri-foliate leaf is due to shoddy genetics" but none of the pics correspond to it. have to assume it's some sort of genetic deformation but that may not mean much if you're growing sensi, genetic problems can lead to sterilization frequently in many species though

i dont mean to say that mr. cervantes is wrong, im sure "shoddy genetics" was just slightly misworded.
as ive said, ive grown the strain before (and i had a good day smoking it :D) and it was fine and certainly not shoddy genetics.
this perticular seed was probably just that it didnt ripen properly in the calyx.:D
my source for these seeds dosent breed purposely, just dosent bother taking out his males. so i get a bag of good, green, and dead seed in 'em..

but cheers for the info regardless and (although i dont own any issues of high times) i hear cervantes has good, simple, reliable advice:D
