its only a 400w hps water about every second day with thrive 1-2 times a week. plants look healthy and the last harvest was really nice but its coming into summer now and the rooms warming up. not sure if you can see in the pic but the buds are really fluffy and starting to stretch on top

How far is that bud from the light? That photo does not support a heat issue diagnosis, in fact the plants looks pretty good from what I can tell. That bud must be a good distance from the light. Is your ballast digital? Is it adjustable and is the adjustable dial set to the highest setting?

Clearly, you have a weed problem in your dirt garden. It happens more than you think to us dirt gardeners, and sometimes to us water gardeners too.

I would say, that she need more air flow to cool her off. That's when I get that kind of foxtailing. Too close to the light there, man.

the plants are all different heights but they're about 30-50cm away from light. i don't think ballast is digital, there nothing to adjust it.

buds grow like that sometimes

but certain pgr can cause that kinda longer flower

tbh its nice if you can get a fat bud to get longer but what you have there is very long flowers being produced

I would check what your feeding as I know that Plant Steroids by evoponic and GA3 can both be used to cause buds like that also many strains will grow like that later in flower so something is a bit off

How long have they been in flower ?

Some seaweed extract or some kinda booster may help you get them fatter or just more bud, I like triacontanol myself I use it in my folia spray I try to get them 1 to 4 times in veg with it and 1 to 4 times in flower makes the bush more and grow faster if you get the dosage and timing dialed in, plus I`ve used it on plants that had been in flower ages and if the flowers have not gone dry and closed yet I always find the plant will make more hairs and grow the buds bigger

but the main issue sometimes is "is it worth running them another 2 to 4 weeks" ? as yes that triacontanol may add some to the yield but if I started with a fresh plant and ran it for 6 to 10 weeks would my end benefit mean more buds ?

So I have to start considering if keeping the plant on longer is worth using up my grow space for
