This is my second grow, my first was in soil, it went ok but my growbox was basic, so on my 2nd grow i went hydro in a large pc case.

Anyways my temps and eviroment are perfect so i got 5 fem red cherry seeds. I germinated 2 and then put them in rockwool, they sprouted their first leaves but died of root rot:-(.

Now i tried it agian, they sprouted but went yellowish and aren't growing fast.
1 root came out of the rw, so i put them in my dwc with mild nutes because i thought they had nute def. I did this today. My ph has been perfect all of my grow.

Please help! I just want plants to grow and ive got to be frustrated on my own because its stealth! I might jus use soil again, but i have spent a lot of £ on hydro stuff and i'm at my wits end.
Any advice please +rep

Are you conditioning the rockwool with 5.5 pH distilled water for a couple hours before you put the seed in them? Are you pre-germinating the seed before you place it in the rockwool or just placing the seed in it? A newly sprouted seed does not need nutes immediately - I think the pH in your rockwool is off. Regarding the damping off of the newly sprouted seeds - I soak my rockwool in a solution of distilled water at 5.5 pH with some hydrogen peroxide to avoid any unwanted bacteria. I used to use Hydroguard but it's off the market. The rockwool should just be damp not soggy.

Yeah,i soaked the rockwool for 24h with ph'ed water, Then rinsed out,not squeezed, and repeated. I germinated paper towel method. Does anyone get good results mixing mild nutes into rw aswell. They are not overwatered but go yellowish after sprouting 1st leaves. Thanks for ur help:-)
