Hello all, I was wondering why people cut off part of a fan leaf but not all of it sometime. >> i've noticed more often in clones than an yhthing... ijust did it in my clones, this help it grow roots?

ppl trim fans to both add stimulus to the growth area by sending the "healing agents" the plant produces to those tips and up the stem (sorry for the lack of correct biology terms) and they trim because the little cutting cant support all of the vegative matter of some of the bigger fans...the fans end up taking up too much of the cuttings energy and therefore take away from root production. If I have small enough fans I dont trim I kinda judge it by eye but I dont want more than 1/4 to 1/2 leaf to stem ratio. Hope that makes sence.

yup, always a good idea to cut the big ones in half so the little guy can support the amount of vegetation and continue to grow and form roots
